  • lol, mail thief

  • Why didn't you post pictures of her everywhere near your hood? Like at the grocery store, a mall, and close hoods.

  • 1:10 Smile for the camera, beeyotch!

  • excellent work!

  • shit! i used to live in San Jose! I went to Lyndale for kinder like 7 years ago!!! ahaha I had more fun there than here in SD.

  • Did the bitch ever get caught?

  • ya know.....in this day and age with video cameras virtually everywhere you have to be a fuck'in moron to do stuff like this

  • Comment removed

  • hahahahaha smart thing putting out that camera, if I see this bitch ill be like "HEY! I saw you on youtube stealing mail, ima kick your ass!"

  • too bad a car didn't run her over when she crossed the street...........it should be legal to shoot people like this

  • Hope they catch her now that there's photographic evidence.

  • oy..Northwood is not too far from where I live. it scares me. I guess sometime last year my package from amazon was not arriving, so I thought they got lost or stolen . so then the seller sent another one but I ended up finding it from my neighbor which was total bullshit that she kept on saying that she returned the product. I didn't want to call the cops or anything like that. but that bitch sure was messed up. and she always parks in front of OUR driveway.

  • I live in this neighbor hood and never seen her

  • you should have left a note in the box that says

"Guess what bitch, I caught your ass and there is a cop behind you."

  • Nice job! One good deterrent would be to post hundreds of fliers of her butt ugly face all over the neighbourhood detailing what she is doing.

That should make her a bit paranoid.

  • what was in the bait?

  • iiiiiiiittttttttttt ssssssuuuccccckkkkssssss

  • That bitch is uggggggly

  • I did not see this person take anything, too bad you were not smart enough to angle the camera properly. Next time maybe you should be a lil smarter.

  • MargaretTD, maybe you're not smart enough to realize that placing the camera outside would require a CORD and would be visible to the thief. Talk about dumb, look in the mirror!

  • @sbdjmy

Really? They do have cordless cameras, and, I guess you did not think that a person could hide the cord if one was needed. I'd tell you to look in the mirror but you would probably break it.

  • Any news on this? Why don't you post fliers in the neighborhood from the video you took at 1:10? Has she been back?

  • Let me guess, you read that placing a GPS tracker in a package was nice, easy, and cheap from your favorite TV show.

Reality check: I would have had to shell out $170 plus $100 for the subscription to activate a personal GPS tracker like Spot. So in hindsight, yes I should have spent $270 to place as bait but at the time I had no idea if this person would have actually come back to take the bait.

  • GPS tracking of a box? What are you freaking retarded? Think about what you are saying. meassia, you must really know how non military GPS works, huh?

  • Actually you can do cheap realtime GPS tracking using a cheap prepaid cellphone and instamapper. Just need to leave the phone in the box. It will cost about .35 cents a day for the unlimited data on the prepaid phone. Just need to install the instamapper application on it.

  • Are YOU stupid? Of course the video was turned over to the police department and the US Postal Inspectors office first and is currently under investigation.

YouTube just provided the medium to share this video outside of my little neighborhood. This video has been linked back to by local tv stations, news papers, blogs, and other websites. It has been way more affective than placing fliers up and down the street.

  • dude this woman looks identical to the woman up the strret by my house but i ilive in canada srry man

  • @SmurffNationn put rat traps in the boxes next time

  • I would shit in a box and give her a Dookie Surprise!

    LMAO!

  • SIt near your window and put a box out there and when shes opening it go outside and kick her fat ass ugly ass.

  • You should have put an ink bomb in there like banks do

  • wow how terrible! I am so sorry! I wonder if she's doing it in your entire neighborhood, or just your home? and if its only yours, why you? but like someone else posted, if she comes around the same time, have someone stay at home and then tackle her, or something! If she's doing it so often you would think that a neighbor noticed something by now? I really do hope that this is solved soon.

  • I'm never moving to the suburbs...:(

  • Not to inject Race into this at all but i had to say this, If any way possible this woman was black.....You would hear the Most racist comments ever....but, so that this doesn't start a convo about race, Its sad in general to do this regardless if your black Hispanic white Asian or anything, and plz do not follow up with race comment....plz

  • loool

  • if she comes around the same time every other day, I would stay at home look out the peep hole and open the door right when she gets there and tackle her.

  • I feel for you, but you must not have neighborhood watch in your area! How can she continue to strike and not one neighbor see anything suspicious or out of the way? I hope the tramp gets caught and if she does get caught, im sure all that will happen is she will get her wrist kissed and she will be let back out to commit more crimes.

  • spend a day out on your porch and watch for when she comes around again and call the police...keep us posted though..that is a horrible thing to do.

  • rotten bitch!

  • That's a serious crime, steal mail goto jail, federal crime.

  • Good luck finding her. I hope they catch her.

  • She's got quite a.........er........DISTINCTIVE appearance! Would have thought she'd be instantly recognisable to someone. Here in the UK, parcels don't get left in the open by the postal people. I understand that they are not supposed to do that. If it can't be delivered, they normally leave a card. It's the independent delivery companies that quite often leave stuff exposed to view. I`ve had goods vanish that way as well.

  • It looks as if this person needs a gentle hand to help her find her way...Hopefull that gentle hand has a firm grip on a Louisville slugger to side of her head!!!!!

  • lawl. i just fucking pissed my pants because of your comment. i would pay 100 dollars to see this woman beat senseless. i mean cmon. pause at 1:10 fuck this lady

  • Heard about this story on KCBS. Found the video posted on their website.

Good luck in catching the thief.

  • Thank you Fugitive Watch for taking on the story to help identify this person.

With the recent negative comments, all I can say is that maybe this person's friends/family finally saw the video. To me, this just brings us one step closer to identifying this lady.

She can try to cut her hair, dye it black, not wear glasses, or whatever other little tricks she may want to try to disguise herself in the future, but with the public's help she won't be able to hide much longer.

  • I know times are tough, but that will never justify stealing from others. To elmosmidlap, the first step in this ladies help is for her to take responsibility for her actions. The government didnt stop her from making sure she saved money for a rainy day. She made the wrong choice and that's her fault. No need to worry, she'll be caught and have a roof over her head at Elmwood.

  • Another thing you might want to consider is getting an exploding dye pack to put inside one of the packages. As soon as she picks it up, it will mark her with unremovable dye which will prove she stole your packages vs. what her lawyer will claim, i.e. that she just walked up to your porch then left.

  • This woman needs to go to jail and will hopefully be caught soon. She is lucky this is in California and not somewhere like Florida where you are allowed to shoot if you feel "threatened" by someone trespassing on your property.

I also have two cameras filming outside my house. I am trying to catch the neighborhood graffiti artist who has tagged my porch twice now. At least he had better hope it is the cameras that catch him and not me.

  • oops, sorry. didn't realize you already had.

  • Why don't you freeze frame it at 1:10 and print her picture out...then post fliers in and around your neighborhood? It will either stop her from stealing packages...or lead to more information to arrest her.

  • this is scary. a lot of people lost their job so i have to watch the mailman when he arrives to make sure i receive my umemployment check. he he..

  • Great video, good job on the camera set up....you will catch this pig soon, you can be sure she live within the area, its just a matter of time. It looks like shes carrying bags to snatch other peoples mail as well. Federal Prison time for this bitch.

  • How old are you? I get the feeling you don't get mail or you would understand why people stealing your personal information is a very big deal. Stealing mail is not just wrong it's a federal crime. It's not just some little bad thing people do like posting stupid comments online

  • Oops that comment was for ETHANMBX

  • Believe me, it is embarrassing!

  • This is a response to "elmosmidlap's" comment below...dude you're a complete idiot. This person has lost his items from the front porch of his very own house and all you can do is simpathize with some loser thief? This female had the intent to steal...do you get that? She intended to steal the stuff that was left on the porch. She went there with a pair of scissors in her hand ready for some loot. The only help this thief needs is some good old jail time.

BTW, great job on the video FourDr.

  • I completely agree. It amazes me people would attack a person who is being victimized by others for trying to defend himself.

One day, technology will make it impossible for these people to do what they do. I, for one, am looking forward to it. Perhaps then they will think about how they can contribute to society instead.

  • elmo: how do YOU know she 'lost her home'? She could be a millionaire by now from all the things she's stolen from other folks. Theft is big business, and finally one small homeowner is doing something about it, and with technology is able to show the rest of us. Good for him! Why this one is thieving is neither his business nor responsibility. He's the victim. Do you ask every victim to slap the wrist of the perps who rob/assault/rape/murder them too? We'll expect YOU to put up her bail, then?

  • Great job. Awesome quality on the video. What system did you buy?

  • you have GOT to be kidding.

YOU should be ASHAMED. People are not here on this earth to be used by other people.

She's a thief and needs to get a new home in federal prison.

  • Let her steal your shit if you don't mind.

  • Great idea and great footage. It clearly shows her face. This video will continue to get out. Someone will recognize her. I hope you catch this thief!

  • dude, you've gotta edit this thing down. i don't have time to stare at your hedges for 3 minutes.

  • I just read it in the Mercury so I decided to come n see. Grrrreeeeet job! 'Hope you catch this thieve....

  • read about this in this am newspaper. had to come and view.. great job video taping, hope you will catch this red headed hefer..

  • Usually when I ship USPS the stuff gets stolen right in the distrubution center. Post Office has been a joke for years now.

  • Sorry for the series of package stealing you are experiencing. What a great idea to put up the video. Her face is clear when she walks between the two pillars on the porch. Hopefully, someone will recognize her and provide her name to the San Jose Police.

    Cupertino

  • OMG ITS MY MOM! haha just kiddding just kidding. hope u find out who it is!

  • great detective work, the police do not have the man power to action this, great you have this on video. I hope she is found and proven guilty in a court of law.

  • it's not slander or defamation of character if it's true. she's caught on video. too bad they didn't have another camera.

  • pull a gun on that bitch!! next time, i also saw this on cbs. hella messed up.

  • i saw this on cbs

  • If she is also stealing your mail you should notify your local postmaster as that is a federal offense. Maybe you should take a vacation day off. Leave the house at your normal time and then return through a back access where someone monitoring your movements can't see you. Await for the culprit and contact the police as soon as you see suspicious activity. Don't personally engage yourself with the perpetrator. Let the police take over if you can catch them red-handed. Good luck to you!

  • Why dont you submit it to be featured on to Fugitive Watch? They have a television program, newspaper and web site. They have caught over 1,000 of crooks.

  • I just saw this on the news, I hope the find her and prosecute her. We've had a huge problem with packages getting stolen in my apartment building.

  • wow...after reading all the comments I have yet to see someone actually DOING something about it...how 'bout this, buy yourself a pair of handcuffs, sit by your window, have a camera pointing at the package so you can actually see her taking it, and than when she opens the package GO AFTER HER...when she takes it, open the door real fast, or even better, run out the back and around the house, watch her open the package, grab her and take her down, what's so hard about that?

  • Leave a package with a GPS device that posts info to a site and then track her down!

  • So the San Jose Mercury news is covering the story and will try to print it in the Christmas day issue tomorrow. The article is already up on their website.

KCBS radio did a phone interview earlier today.

CBS5 is going to air the story tonight on the 11PM news.

I think I have most media channels covered now. Internet, TV, Print, and Radio.

Thanks for everyone's support and messages. Hopefully this story has prevented at least a christmas package or two from being stolen this holiday.

  • She'll need to identify herself as the person stealing my packages in the video first to do that.

  • Isa4523..you're so offbase. NO ONE can prevent a person from putting a camera on their own front porch or within their own premises to film their own front porch. If it just happens to catch a thief in the process, so be it. Nothing a lawyer could remotely sue about. He doesn't know who she is, isn't slandering her. He's merely showing someone coming up to his porch and taking objects which belong to him. Cut and dried, pure and simple. Clearly you have no idea of the law.

  • Clearly you don't know what you're talking about. How do you know this caught a thief? I didn't see any thievery going on. One can guess at what happened when she went off camera, but the plain fact is that this video doesn't show her in the act. Also, we don't ever see what's in the bag. I don't know anything about criminal law, but it all seems pretty circumstantial to me. Good luck getting this 'evidence' in and getting a conviction. I bet a shark of a defense attorney will have a field day.

  • sure, keep living in your dreamworld, hapa. Take another look at the video. The woman arrives with a flat bag. Leaves with a full bag within which is the shape of the box he left on his porch. ANY good video expert working for the DA can freeze frame and step by step show how she took the boxes. You also seem to have forgotten that his MAIL was gone as well along with the boxes. That's a federal crime. No doubt when they find this perp they'll trace any missing funds stolen from mailboxes.

  • @hapa122 more than enough to get a search warrant. and this woman will have tons of evidence in her house. boxes with labels being used to store old kitty litter

  • Karma is a bitch, and so is this women. I hope this is a lesson for other would-be thieves. Nicely done on your part! Good luck.

  • Good luck! I hope the thief is caught!

  • Can you booby trap her? Mail yourself something large looking--say a stone in a box. When it's delivered, wait for her.

  • I hope they catch that lowlife piece of white trash and she spends the holidays in jail...

  • please post follow up if she's caught. i'd like to see her get nabbed. good luck.

  • I passed it on to a few forums I post on as well. I hope she is caught and nailed. I can't stand trash like this.

Good job on getting this film..... she'll be famous now ;) and not in a good way. pwned!

  • Thanks again to NBC11 for coming out today to help spread the video and hopefully gets us one step closer to identifying this person.

Please note to reference case # 08-357-0790 when calling the SJPD for tips/info to the identity of this person.

  • put a tracker in a battery pack for a device she steals

she might however bring it to a pawn shop...

  • Wait a minute, no, she's a criminal so that means she's actually a hard-working genius who has just been deprived by the capitalist system and had to steal mail to get by. She had no choice.

  • To the hoosegow with her! Off with her head!

  • NBC11 came by for an interview today. Look for the news story at 5,6, and 11pm today.

  • this is what i do for a living one day i found 5 million dollars in a mail package so now i live in beverly hills.

  • oh my gosh. you live like a 2 minute walk away from my house! i recognize this place. cant believe someone in our neighborhood would do this. i think it was you that were giving out the fliers about this? cause i heard you ring the door bell but i was to scared to open it. then i waited and saw you put something in my mailbox. hahaha.

  • Yes that was me talking to the neighbors yesterday and passing out flyers in the rain. I will be doing the same thing again today if I have time.

  • i see. well i try to do as much as i can to help. I ride my bike and hang around this neighborhood alot especially at northwood park. so if i see someone that looks like that person in the video i'll try to follow her and see where she lives. and plus i have a good sense of where you live because i recognize it in the video.

  • Thanks for the help! I've talked to just about everyone on the streets leading up to my home. If/when she does show her face in Northwood again hopefully somebody recognizes her from the video.

I still plan on spreading the fliers and this video to the local businesses around here.

  • Can you or someone let the post office know as well? Don't they have their own department that looks into that and presses charges accordingly? I'm sure you're not the only one to be hit in your neighborhood...

  • This is a new way to catch crime! Over the internet! Thanks for posting this. I live near this neighborhood and I am going to be on the look out. I'll blog about this and let people know!

  • *mail

  • stealing mil is a federal crime.....

  • I already submitted the video the local news but haven't heard a response back yet. Aside from the mail... She stole an XBOX360 game on Friday, Nike Jordan IV's, and some other clothing on Monday, a book on Friday, and a box full of junk on Thursday. The months before she took some tires for my motorcycle and she opened my roommates package which had shoes and a scarf.

  • aj iv's...hope it wasnt lasers or thunders...gawd i hope u had insurance on those kicks...

what goes around,u kunt, comes around...

  • So what did she steal?

  • Send this to a local news station, that should help a lot.

  • This lady came on a Friday, the following Monday and then once more on Friday that same week. I didn't notice the packages were missing until Saturday in which I bought the camera. She then came back on Thursday and took the package that you see in this video here. After talking to the neighbors it appears that she also just takes the letters from the mailbox and leaves the magazines and junk mail when she takes the mail to make it not so obvious that the mail was taken.

  • wow...pretty ballsy trying that in broad daylight...

  • hoping someone can identify this person and bring a little justice to the neighborhood
