love the intake sound on my R6 sounds like its gonna suck my skull though the tank But i dont see me riding it much since i got my Aprilia RSV4 the sound out the Arrow pipe is PRICELESS!!!!! and way faster than the R6...needless the R6 will be a track bike
@ professor dumbass. I had a 2004 r6 special edition. ( the one with black flames) all it had was a slip on yoshi and i took it 173 mph. so shut the fuck up about 600's. you or your race buddies obviously do not have a clue on how to make a bike strong if all you hit was 169 on a gsxr 750 ?? wtf? vote up.
retard, yes it does. Having a slip on allows u to tune the engine to get more power out of it since more air is being pushed out. I get 10 more hp out of my r6 with a k and n filter, devil exhaust and Factory pro stage1 jet kit.

the top speed of an r6 is 168 mph. The speedo will probably say 175ish. As u go faster the speed sensor gets les acurate. at 60 mph, its like 1-2 mph, at 120 its double. So in my honest opinion, i think 133 mph was actually the fastest u ever went because u were to scared to go any faster.. :D

Just wondering cuz I was watching youtube video titled "MUGELLO on board yamaha r6" and in the beginning and very end of video the guy is clearly hitting 280KPH + which when converted to MPH is approximately 174MPH. I hit over 150MPH on straight freeway and still had two gears to go.
I know that bike will get the speedo to 168 as I had one a year ago. The thing you have to realize is that the speedos are about 10% off when you are at top speed. I have had mine reading 170, but there is no way a 600 will hit that in actual speed without serious work to the bike. 160 in actual speed is about all your gonna get with the normal mods. Sorry bud.

Well in the UK, if you do you're bike test before the age of 21, you're restricted to 33BHP for two years. I've got a few months left on that restriction, but it's gonna be 06/08 R6 asap!!! :D:D:D till then i'm on the 08 Aprilia RS125, but i've put on the bigger carb, full Arrow exhaust system and new airfilter, so it's no slouch! corners like a dream too. If the R6 is as good as it i'll be happy :)
I'm looking too buy a 1999/2000 yamaha r6, how different are they from the newer models in terms of speed handling and overall performance and driveability?
@mikaylarocks I recently told my father about how me, and my brother (brother driving, me passenger) were doing 140 mph on the highway around rush hour. Weaving in, and out of traffic. Then all around semis.

With my Garmin 60Cx i've had it up to 283 or 176mph. with just a k&n filter... on an 5mile long straight though

I know that bike will get the speedo to 168 as I had one a year ago. The thing you have to realize is that the speedos are about 10% off when you are at top speed. Actually the Stock MY 08 YZF-R6 has an actual top speed of 173MPH. First 600 to officially break the 170 mark.

There was a slight performance increase in the midrange and higher RPM range for the MY08 mainly due to YCCI
Some bike magazine did a straight line comparrison for the 06 and 08, i'll have a dig for the figures.
