  • All you need is feet and pedals. Does not matter how big your foot is or your pedal.

  • those pedal are the old axis longboards... rich kid.. The new ones are like 900-1200 buckins :O

  • i have a pair of shit pedals, maybe 110$, and i can do single and heel toe... dont spend your hours watching videos, go play...

  • at min 1:12 the pedals sound like a f..ing whip

  • Your bass drums aren't tuned to each other and it pisses me off. Most drummers in bands use a 2nd bass drum for AESTHETICS ONLY, they use a double pedal because it's insanely hard to match the sounds exactly. And if they use 2 single pedals, they more than likely have triggers. Again, MOST.

  • @ThatDrummerGuy95 1.) They're not supposed to sound exactly the same to begin with. Two bass drums that sound somewhat different = how you get that "surging" sound.

2.) Every death metal drummer that uses two bass drums (just about all of them) has a separate pedal on each. There are others like Mike Mangini or Bobby Jarzombek.

3.) You don't even need to tune the bass drums whatsoever if using triggers... and very few touring metal drummers *don't* use triggers.

  • @Steve128967 Understandable, you make a good point.

  • @cursethetide507 you say "Swivel technique is the lazy way to F up your knee and you get no power from the strokes" well that's odd because Monstrositys drummer Lee Harrison has been using swivel for over 20 years and he has plenty of power son. Another guy you might know Pete Sandoval has used the swivel technique just as long with no knee issues and plenty of power. I won't even mention the others because you are clueless anyways......

  • why do you learn heel toe havin' a long board? -.-

  • I never find a need to go the fast but this i like the right heel toe for triplet outburst.... O_o I also like the single foot with the pulsing hihat good skills bro inspiring

  • You'r hi hat is like 19 miles away from your drums ahahh that look wierd

  • regular singles....quit with the faggotry

  • I could probably do it if i had those $500 pedals

  • @sellingmypokecards You sound like a stupid sloppy faggot. Go troll elsewhere cock gobbler. Sorry that this kid actually has some skill with something and the only thing you know how to do is stick random objects in your ass.

  • Your heel toe technique is wrong... but it works for you(cuz of your axis pedals) so keep it. If you wanna see the actual technique(on any pedal and can be done with your feet half way off the pedal) check out cobus' videos or jared falk(drumlessonscom)

  • hey man awsome job. keep it up brother

  • so...ya the pattern is heel heel toe toe when you speed it up doing 16th notes. it may separate when you slow down doing 8th notes. its a different way of thinking about it but its also wrong.

  • Oh my god, those pillows in those base drums?? those are some nice pillows! You must be loaded!!

  • pretty good =)

  • good job

  • Good video fella.Explained a lot.thanks.

  • It was very helpful, I was worried when he was learning to play the double bass pedal right. And I learned the technique. Thanks friend.

  • Sounds like a Harley.

  • Hi ,nice video. So why is the heel toe technique required in the first place?Isnt a heel up technique good enough? I have just started and feel pretty good with heel up. Does heel-toe save energy or something? Thanks in advance.

  • @pkrishnametal Because it is much easier to do 16th notes at 280 to over 300 BPM with heel toe than single stroke heel up. I've seen maybe 2 guys on youtube do heel up single strokes at 300 BPM and it looks like theyre going to destroy their knees with all the swiveling they have to do.

If you get good at heel-toe you can make it sound just like heel up, and it takes much less energy. It's still your feet working the pedals. It's not cheating, just smarter at super speeds.

  • @pkrishnametal It's not required, if you do it right it should make it easier. If it's more comfortable to play heel up and you can move as fast you should just stick with heel up. However it's like diddling, if you get really good at it you can move faster than single stroking. search Jordan Perry Derelict heel toe vid. this vid shows a smoother way to do it. you don't really need to use you heel, you use the center of you foot...

  • @rimshot223 thanks man..appreciate it !!

  • @pkrishnametal i agree with rimshot223! you can just single each note and alternate between feet rather than doubling each foot. Ive tried to learn heel-toe and i dont like it. lol i just use the "slide" technique. i hit my toe on the lower to middle part of the pedal and let it slide up the pedal for the second hit. its whatever works best for you.

  • @littledrummerdude27 thanks!

  • Attractive legs.

  • dude nice video, but your legs blinded da fuck out of my eyes man..do you go out in the sun?

  • 1:27 "is it over?"

    1:33 "NO TAKE COVER"

  • nice!

  • Stop wasting your time with heel/toe brother. Learn the swivel technique- much more consistent

  • @Deadbydawn71 where can i find that technique?

    thanks:)

  • @Deadbydawn71 or slide both are very easy to learn like you don't have to buy $1000 pedals to learn Slide or swivel, Heel toe is just the lazy way of doing doubles but it's hard to learn swivel and slide are the hard way of doing doubles but easier to get the hang of

  • @bondjamesbond12 lol wait, heel toe is the lazy way of doing slide or swivel? You have it backwards. Swivel is the lazy way to fuck up your knee because you're too lazy to learn the heel toe technique. Anyone can twist their ankle and get no power in their strokes. Learn this technique and you can play fast and with power.

  • @cursethetide507 no i use slide and it takes less effort cuz all you need to do is slide you foot up the foot board, I'm not saying there good to learnbut it take less effort and you don't have to buy Axis Pedals or Trick Pedals or any type of long board pedal

  • @bondjamesbond12 you dont need a longboard pedal to do heel toe...and you just said yourself you're too lazy to put the effort in to learn how to do heel-toe

  • @cursethetide507 yeah but heel toe is harder to do on a short board, and yes I'm a lazy drummer i don't work on speed i work on technique, I'm not like some drummers that say watch this and they start fly

  • @Deadbydawn71 Isnt swivel bad for the knees?

  • fuckin spoiled little shit lets steal em

  • heel toe is gay.

be real dude. play the drums the way they should be played. without expensive pedals that make a shitty drummer look good. It's all about the pearl in the side.

  • @skateenough so right

  • this is honestly the worst way i saw to have fast double bass..I'd rather do the swivel Foot technique, or develop quick feet. I swear this takes more learning to double bass that is not necessary.

  • dude i play it a week and i play it perfect

  • dude thats awesome for a week man keep it up!! and thank sthis was very helpful

  • why do your kick drums sound different?

  • im just saying im 15 nd i have a double bass kit bt they shitty brand drums nd they sound better than those drums

  • maybe he worked hard and saved his $......just a thought

  • dang your bass drums sound like crap

  • @JustinJaybrown could be because of crappy camera?

  • rich

  • Helpful. Thanks for that.

  • i figured out the Axis pedal is no better than Tama Iron Cobra pedals

  • what is the best pedal to be used for the heel toe

  • @MrGoodshit41 Seriously, any pedal is great, but if you have the cash get the pearl demon drives they're pretty legit!

  • wrong you dont actually use the heel to hit it you let your foot drop after the first note thats what tim waterson's vids say but if it works for you eh.

  • At least he got some skills even though he's spoiled. =D

  • what if your foot is to big?

  • It is very easy... barefoot on axis pedals.

  • You know, that's really pretty good, I cannot get my jumbo sized feet to do that. My technique is to use heel up and to keep the strokes short while using the weight of your leg to add to the downward pressure. You can nearly go as fast.

  • can u have a double bass pedal when you do heel toe

  • @MrGoodshit41 Yes you can :) This guy does it /watch?v=ImQEfiHbxxk

  • WTF was that hi hat opening and closing on its own???

  • This was helpful now I totally understand heel toe thanks

  • i have the same socks lol

  • What pedals do you use? The pedals are great for heal toe but the top that hits the drum sucks.

  • @Jts024 what?

  • why are all of you in these techniques wearing only sock? Fuck it, I play in shoes

  • @jts024 i play barefoot,, you feel the pedals more

  • YOU SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I WANT THOSE PEDALSS!

  • @KiddDougiie Nope, get demon drives :D

  • the pedals are so springy its makes it like 10 times easier

  • I cant do it because i have big feet :(

  • @joecfcfantastic same D:

  • Give any of us 2 axis pedals and i think anyone who watched this vid can have this just as good as you in a week

  • How the fuck can you get 2 Axis at the age of 14???????

My parents wont even buy me a drum set :o

  • @Haddockxyz300 I Have A Drum Set And I'm The Same Age . Just That I Don't Have Axis Pedals ;P

  • what is your spring settings? cause i need to know what to set them 2

  • Pretty good, but it doesn't matter if you do heel-heel-toe-toe or heel-toe-heel-toe. I do the heel-heel-toe-toe (and I still suck...) It just depends what is easier for you. But still, nice video. \m/(>.<)\m/

  • dude that was SICK!!!

  • Pretty good man ... I'm going to try that ... When the sun comes up ;)

  • 2 axis pedal at 14? fucking spoiled..

  • @bishimbelove You're a hater dude. Why can't you be happy for someone else, you're the reason why the world is the way it is, haters hating on people.

  • @bishimbelove Have you ever asked yourself "is he a good drummer?" if he is, All the money spent on that set is worth it..

  • @KaB00mBab3H problem with that he isnt that great.. sorry to say my man.. this kid probly got his set from his parents who spoil the shit out of him.. i know i sound like a dick but this is all true. im 14 i have no idea how to get enough money to buy a set like that. i play on a crappy dum set and still could kill this kid in drumming..

  • @bishimbelove How do you know how good he is or not? and if he wasn't good his parents wont waste their money on him. Also, would you buy cheap ones that lasts for like 2 years or expensive ones that lasts for a decade?

  • @bishimbelove look at his other videos.. i know he is trying he will get better but he shouldnt teach people like he does.. he isnt good enough

  • @bishimbelove hey fuck you i have axis pedals and im 14 and i have a ludwig epic drum set.i paid for both of those with my own money u fuckin dick.how do u know he didnt work for thosepedals .u ass

  • @BLACKSANDMETAL13 cause if he did pay with his own money... he would accually try to make the set sound good and tune it. cause did you hear the snare. it sounds like shit.

  • @bishimbelove did u not listen.he doesnt even have the snare on.he did that so u could hear the bass drums better..think before u speak asshole

  • @bishimbelove dude freaking have you ever used a bigfoot?

  • @bishimbelove all i have is a dw 5000

  • @bishimbelove tell me bout it bro................for just one of those pedals is like $500.00

  • What height should you be sitting at?

How far must you sit from the bass-drum?

What should the tension be on the pedal?

What way should the bass-drum be tilted etc.

Do any of you know about a video that could explain all of this? I would really appreciate it. thanks.

  • @Solarexistence I don't think any of that matters too much, but the thing that probably effects it the most is the tension, which I still don't know about that... :|

  • Comment removed

  • i'm so confused, i play heel up but wanna learn heel toe also but i have DW's and can't fit my foot on the pedal but people say you can still do it. I can't a find video of someone doing the heel toe on a regular pedal so i can't figure out how do it... could someone help?

  • Don't wanna bag on u but ur bass drums sound like shit. Muffle a little more and maybe tighten your heads. Tryin to help u sound better bro, I've been playin for 16 years so...

  • My feet are too big to do this.

  • I HAVE THE SAME SOCKS AS YOU! :D

  • you still arent doing heel toe right, YOU DONT HIT THE DRUM PEDAL WITH YOUR HEEL AT ALL! you should be able to do heel toe technique with your heel even OFF the pedal

  • @TheGerthax explain please.

  • @filppilp2 lol how did i not just explain it. when you do the heel toe technique, you dont literally hit the pedal with your heel, you go down with your whole foot to hit the bass pedal and on the way up you hit it again. if hes trying to do heel toe then its completly wrong. sort of think of heel toe as push pull technique but with your feet. please see this /watch?v=bMGCT-J-_N0

  • @TheGerthax Awesome video. Thanks man

  • only pussies use heel toe

  • Why is there pillows in it?

  • @Th3IronBull muffling

  • cheer up guys!Another drummer learned the technique.

I agree that it is easier with axis pedals + double bass.

I agree that you can do it on any pedals. once you learned that racking motion it is easy. i also learned this on a cheap generic double pedal $73.60.

if you cant do it, maybe your pedal has wrong tension or so so..or you are a stupid lazy kid who blame the product instead of practicing. It is not literally hitting with your heels. try to keep your front sole in-contact with the pedal.

  • it's sounds like pop corns

  • What if you have big feet?

  • @Theayto turn your foot a small bit diagonal inward or outward so its like your foot is smaller

  • @IIIUNREALIII Oh ok

  • Good job dude! Thanks for sharing.

  • says the boy with the 800 bug pedals.

  • gay

  • Axis is easy as fuck to do anything on.. Try it with pearl pedals. You will kill yourself..

  • Ok dude, i dont meen to troll, but the only reason its easy for you is cause your usin axis longboards, try it with a different pedal and its not as easy, cause axis longboards like respond to any sort of movement from your feet! just sayin dude.

  • You should have the axis longboards for heel toe.

  • ur proud with ur half week lesson???????fuck!!!

  • whats the pillows for?

  • @CrunkIsNeverDead022 it gives it a solid sound were as if u take out the pillow it will give out an echo sound that is sloopy.

  • @CrunkIsNeverDead022 its to make it more of a thud sound rather than an echoey sound lol

  • 14 years old...and you have 2 axis pedals, and a double bass set.. WTF...

  • @SATANECRONOMICUS so do i

  • @SATANECRONOMICUS yeah... even joey juniour 15 doesn´t have it

  • made me chuckle, you say thats it at 2:00 but the video is 3:30 minutes long. clearly not it.

  • DW7000 FTW....if you set it up right, which i have...its just as fast as any pedal out there...

  • its easy for you because you have a fucking longboard

  • dayyuuummm. For a week and a half that's pretty beast.

  • Ur 14 years old have two bass drums 2 axis pedals n a iron cobra pedal. How did u pay for this huh? Spoiled little brat

  • @A7XFAN31 Calm your shit, i think you would take it if your parents said they would buy it for you.

  • @thisisformusiconly not really doesnt teach responsiblity. no one can go through life without working for it

  • @A7XFAN31 True, but neither does having shit stuff either. I would think responsibility is thought by taking control of your life. And when your 14 you have no control over that stuff.

  • @thisisformusiconly i see were ur coming from but i no a lot of people that take without working and now they have no money because they cant find jobs, there failing school because they arent doing there working or have money to paying for even a semisister of college. so i try to avoid being one of them

  • @A7XFAN31 I know what you mean, and they piss me off too. They dont really try and then at the end they are like "Oh shit i am gonna fail". Anyway, this kid seems pretty responsible, he doesnt seem to break his stuff, unlike my friend(fucking stupid as hell). I was hoping not to have at first semster college because i am going to try and focus on my classes instead but whatever... thats just me.

  • @thisisformusiconly ya.it seems like we have the same opinon about it.

  • @A7XFAN31 I like how this started out as an argument, but we ended up agreeing about many things.

  • 14years old :)

  • Nice fat feet!

  • popcorn

  • that's awesome! You're 14 I'm 61.Gonna try it.I play double pedals and play quads and triplets but always single strokes. The heel toe seems to really kick it up to high gear really fast.Keep it going! Good job

  • I could've never had that kinda gear when i was f*****g 14... Nor even today as I don't have a job.

  • and hit ur toes off the beater :)

  • whoa. this is really easy to do.. i always thought heel-toe method are hard.

  • I find the left foot is harder to get handle of it.

  • suena totalmente a destiempo. malisimo...

  • you have money. I don't

  • "i'm 14 years old!", cool story bro.

  • it pretty easy to do it but i need to buy custom pedals cuz my size 15 feet

  • you are good and all the bastards posting just shit can suck my dick

  • ok wait wait. you thought that heel toe meant heel heel toe toe? theres a reason why its called HEEL TOE! besides this technique is useless. if you want a good excersice on the bass drums do snare rudiments on the double bass! that takes more skill than this crap

  • dude

i started to do this technique today and i do it better

  • i hate all those heel toe conspiracists. Just man up and practice and learn to be fast the normal way. lazy fuckers. The normal altenating left right way gives you more power per stroke plus its easier to get into a groove.

  • Whats the point of heel toe it just seems to make the whole thing harder and complicated just use ball of foot as normal unless u have pussy legs lol

  • Poo

  • i learned this techique on the cheapest basix pedals. it took some time but i think it was worth it. then i got axis pedals and it is much easier:)

  • @redhothellers i did, i still do, just not as long letting it grow back

  • woow sounds like crap, you need to sub divide

  • sounds like bowling balls in a cement mixer.

    evenness?

  • You might not need axis pedals, but you certainly need some fairly long boards.

  • do u shave ur legs?

  • @TruthTheSpeaker he's forteen man...

  • @TruthTheSpeaker He's 14 xD

  • @TruthTheSpeaker its better for speed

  • @TruthTheSpeaker Hes Justin Bieber on Puberty

  • @TruthTheSpeaker roflmao

  • bae e caca!
