  • i love watching Craigs kitchen. its by far the best cooking show out there man. keep up the awesome vids bro!

  • What is the song at the intro/outro? is that one of yours?

  • @kahnny23 Yes, it's called "Ever Beating Heart" available for free at my website. craigfarraway (dot) com.

  • nice set up , thanks for posting this.

  • hah, brilliant... I've been watching terpsichoreankid‬‏'s videos wondring how he got those overhead shots... then I saw one of your brewing videos and was really dying to know... this was a great video to help me see how its done... Thanks!

  • Hey Craig my son is making his first brew. check out his music as you enjoy yoyr beer.

    Billy Liverpool UK.

  • Wicked video Craig I must admit I have no idea with filming and need to learn! my wine videos were shot by just putting my digital camera on to video, I have a video 8 I got from a carboot sale its like new about 20 years old I look forward to using it you have to start somewhere take care Ian UK ps Craig my dad has a camcorder that takes tapes but records in DV my video 8 is tapes what is the differnce? they both use tapes but his says dv Digital video my knowledge of video is poor cheers Ian

  • @sandydogy Your camera is analog and his is digital. That means that yours records like a VHS recorder does, and his digitized the signal and records it as binary code, like a CD vs a record.

    Cheers!

  • @sandydogy Hi Craig it is Ian I did the video thansk to Craig you loved yes my dades camera is digital but it records on to tape I thought digital was a dvd or cd

  • Great behind the scenes look Craig!...Thanks!...Keep on brewing and cooking man...it's the best !

  • Nice Video Craig! I'm probably the only person on YouTube that has actually been in "Craig's Kitchen" lol

  • @weirdbeer You've also been in the brew dungeon, but only once, cuz it's a mess. We need to get together Fo and talk All Grain. Let's pick each other's brains over some beers.

  • @CraigTube I'd love to

  • Thought I responded already to this vid craig - guess not lol

Me and my wife watched this and she was waiting to see what it wasthat you were cooking... and when the video ended w/o something being cooked, it was funny to see her reaction lolol She thought she was getting some new recipe on this video. had to be there! funny stuff ...cool video none the less buddy - cheers!

  • @ACTeslaMachineDC Tell her not to worry, the full video is on it's way.

  • @CraigTube Ha! will do craig ;)

  • Nice setup Craig. I like that kind of Behind the scenes videos.

  • You commit a lot of work for all your videos and you can definitely tell keep up the great videos. cheers

  • Wow, quite an elaborate setup. I gotta say though, all the effort you put into it shows. You have some of the best beer videos on youtube, keep up the awesome work!

  • great video, hope you do another video on how you sync the audio to the video it takes me ages when I record the audio separate, the mic on the camera is poor if its even just a little bit away. cheers.

  • I'd love to get a wireless mic, but I don't have a laptop?

  • @bmeyer44 You can jack it into your PC just the same. The wireless mic will work all over the house.

  • @CraigTube cool I'll have to look for one!

  • @CraigTube I was checking out those MX model mics craig, but what would you recommend in a wireless mic...mu little girl loves to sing, and wants one very BADLY! Maybe one can make it way on Santa's sled this year..thanks again.

  • @ACTeslaMachineDC I wouldn't use a wireless mike for singing. I don't know how old she is, but check out the MXL 900 USB mic. It's killer and can be found for 50 or 60 bucks, way cheaper than a wireless. I just bought one myself. Can't wait for it to get here so I can do some singing!

  • hi craig thank u for footage showin me how but still would like to know how u can put 2 vids in one clone so 2 of u the same like u did in one ur vids as looks cool .have 2 camcroders sony digital 8 handycam trv620e but findin software to use try window 7 movie maker got xp to as good makein computers up to.like get add on like crowds chers things .john from uk and go say are beer kets over here are made by young's

  • This is exactly what I needed to see! I'm getting ready to shoot a collage tutorial and had no idea how to film over my own shoulder. Your arm extension idea is brilliant! Where can I get one of those extension thingies and what are they actually called? Your lighting advice is great, too! Thanks so much!

  • Great vid Craig! It's cool to show everyone that making videos isn't a piece of cake--it takes some good planning and great execution to get a good video up on YT. Cheers! Can't wait for the next Craig's Kitchen!

  • thumbs up if you wanna see Craig review 4loko.

  • @napalm4sd I'm afraid I can't do caffeine. It messes with my heart rhythms.

  • @CraigTube I like the taste of 4 loko, but I can't mess with too much caffeine, it gives me anxiety.

  • @CraigTube

Shoot. Yea, 4loco is probably bad for anyones health though.

  • This was very interesting to see. I often wonder how you get your video to sync so well with your audio. Does your software do it or do you have tom nudge the video until it matches?

  • @Imasofat It's quite easy. It's all digital, so there's no speed variance or drift. Each video has it's own audio. When I put them on the timeline with the audio from my mic, you can see the wave patterns on the audio tracks. You just zoom in and line them up, then listen to them all at the same time to make sure they're in unison. Then you mute all other tracks except the one you want, which is the mic. It's much more difficult without having the audio from the cameras to help line things up.

  • Fantastic!

    Cheers

  • Nice work Craig... I'm sure lots of folks don't realize how much work goes into just a single shot video, much less what you're doing!

  • The easiest part of doing these types of videos, is watching the final cut!! Fantastic behind the scenes video Craig

  • It's so cool that you showed all of this. When I've done my homebrewing videos, especially the all-grain ones, it's so time-consuming and frustrating sometimes to do all the camera set-ups, lighting, mics, etc.

    And then all the editing!

But it's so rewarding to make a video you're proud to share with others. That makes it all so worthwhile!!!

    Cheers my friend!!

  • @steeljan

HI Steeljan, I also have an appreciation for how much work goes into a video since putting up my own brew tips. Craig does a really nice job and has given me a standard to aim for. I find editing to be the most time consuming, especially if you weren't sure what you wanted to say in the first place...The rehearsal is a valuable timesaver come editing time...Next thing I'm gonna tackle is figuring out editing a soundtrack..but what music an I use (copyright?)

    Great job Craig!

  • @steeljan It is definitely worth it. After I post a video, I start hearing the messages ring through my Email one by one. I love that part. It's a lot of work, making these videos, but because video is my main hobby, I love doing it. Oh yes, there's moments of frustration too. I just love it when I get everything all set up, and I accidently kick the tripod, knocking the shot all out of whack. It's even more special when it happens in the middle of a shoot.

Cheers Jan! Hope all is well.

  • Your kitchen is like an operating room compared to mine lol. Funny you're family gets the experiments. Where does the good stuff go? The dog? : ) I always thought the dogs really deserved the best because of sweet disposition, loyalty, and a lack of bitchyness, but most people don't agree ... prolly cause their bitchy, yeah.

  • always best to test it on the family first, and don't worry mate my kitchens the same.

    Nice vid btw

  • Nice, now you know, we're going to want to see a behind the scenes view of your two 'sets' in the brewing dungeon, too! Behind the scenes stuff is always enjoyable!

  • @dcostell I just have to tidy up a bit (a bit??), but I would love to show the brew dungeon. It's quite the pad.

  • more...more...more! I need all the tips I can get!!

  • @bmeyer44 That's how you get around the fact that your Flip cam doesn't have a mic input. Any questions you may have, just fire away.

  • Craig,

How do you get the house so quiet?! Do you give the wife and kids $20 to go out?!

    HAHA

  • @MaximAvs what the hell are they gonna do with $20...buy some gum? HEHEHEHE

  • @MaximAvs LOL, I usually wait until everyone's in bed, or at least quiet before I shoot. It usually finds me up quite late.

  • Cool video Craig!!

I agree with AstAMoore thet you should include your gear in the description!

    :)

    Keep up the great work!!

  • @MaximAvs Done.

  • Sweet. I love behind-the-scenes footage. You should probably list your gear in the description, too (including the lav mic and the camera tripod models).

  • @AstAMoore Good idea. Done.
