This song is incredible. I haven't heard since it came out, and I was a kid then, in middle school, so it didn't really affect me--I was surrounded by a loving family, etc., rebelling by listening to suicidal tendencies and led zeppelin. I'm now near 40, messing around thinking of covers for my band, sitting at work, and had to pull out the earplugs midway through to avoid coming to tears. How powerful to have someone sing these words and mean it.

As Thomas Jefferson said, the reason America is a federal republic and not a direct democracy is that the rights of the minority must be protected from the tyranny of the majority.
