  • @MRASTONVILLA1991 hey man, find out how many pull ups you can do until failure, then work on 5 sets of half that amount. This works really well

  • hey thanks for this advice. I can only do 2-3 pull-ups and then my arms just feel like they lose all their power.

  • pullups are the only form of workout i always stick to. best way to build and maintain strenght in my opinion.

  • Amm why wouldn't you use your forearms? Pull ups are one of the best exercises for your forearms as well. Read some rock climbing training programmes, maybe you would change your video than.

    And when you use wide grip just like you did, you don't use your lats more, you only limit your range of motion, it's the opposite of what you should be doing.

    Not bad vid for beginners, but it's not a very good one.

    Just being honest, no hard feelings.

  • @maresindikalac widing ur grip does make u use ur lats more, it shortens the range for the bicep but takes all the pressure to ur lats.

  • Great tips. I've never been able to get my chin above the bar. I can see how doing negative reps could help. Will definitely give it a try!

  • I heard, with the front hand grip, your palms facing away it is bad to pull yourself higher than level with your chin, let alone above the bar because its hyper extending?

  • You can also step on a chair to go up and do your negative pull ups.

  • very useful tip about thumb position. i didnt realise this

  • @GODY1980 yes many people dont realise, but any exercise where you close your grip you will be using your forearms for stabilization, and this will be taking stress away from your target muscle groups! remember your forearms are a small muscle group compared to your back, so if they become tired early on you will be compromising your back workout and loosing out on the results you want! try and keep your palms open and rest the weight on them or 'hang' instead of 'grab' the bars!!
