Men or women? One of the reasons it such a controversial subject is because it seems impossible to change that part of your personality. I agree, sports as 'masculine' is a cultural construct. This form of therapy seems weak. However, some people who WANT therapy addressing sexual orientation change or to diminish SSA have the right to seek it. Some people DO experience change. I don't know too much about this aspect of ex-gay therapy other than it is recommended by some therapists.

While I support anyone wanting to be ex-gay and encourage whatever works for some - I personally don't see the benefits either.

I might suppose the idea is to meet and interact with men in solely non-sexual bonding, affections and physical interactions.

I could see that helping some but otherwise it might be over-rated in terms of the goals here.
