Coming from Punahou and such, a lot of my classmates are trying to be Doctors, Engineers, and Businessmen. I believe though that their is no higher calling than that of to serve your country or community. I've wanted to be a cop since I was in middle school. Hopefully I will be able to wear the shield and serve the community of Oahu with HPD. Thanks for the great video!

If your P.O.S.T. certified in any state it wouldn't matter, in any county police dept. in Hawaii you MUST go through another academy. You can apply if your out of state, check out HPD's website.

about that youth CPA class, my boss is in charge of that... i work at HPD in the Juvenile Services Division. i was told that it might be discontinued because there wasnt enough intrest for the class... i suggest you join the Law Enforcement Explorers Program. They're really active in doing community services and things like that. do you know about the Explorers program?
awesome! well if you ever want to join the HPD explorers or maybe talk to someone if they're going to have the Youth CPA class, call us up or stop by the main police station for an application.

I'm already an explorer with U.S. Customs and Border Protection, I was thinking about being a HPD explorer next year.

yeah, you should join the explorer program. they seem like they have a lot of fun and once a year they travel to the mainland for competition.
