Doug is a scorpio, completely obsessive, and he's always tripping on acid, those creepy visions he has, and then Skeeter is definitely on speed or something...
The scene in which Doug's mom comes into the room with a plate of cookies and they all awkwardly stare at her as she replaces the old plate and leaves has strangely never faded from my memory, but with all the knowledge and wisdom the internet has given me I now know why: she left the kitchen and they were all struck with confusion as to why she thought this was okay.
Funny....just like in real life the rich destroying everything and not caring about the environment or wild life or people. All they care about is lining their pockets with green. Must be a friend of Rick Perrys. They are all a like.
Wait... at the very last second of part 3 and the very first second of part 4 she dares to call that diseased monsterous fat idiotic looking monster CUTE? THE FUCK? @Pheonixwizard77 please tell me you hate the story but only like the momeries and all you are here for at all are for the memories from... 10 years ago.
@matrixfan127 I enjoy everything about this movie and its treatment of the show's usual characters, but Herman's parts are cringeworthy. I can only tolerate the monster because I think it's supposed to be a reference to Doug trying to bag the legendary neematoad in the very first episode of the Nickelodeon show. Other than the monster, this movie is pretty true to the original show and develops the original characters' relationships nicely.
@KevinLsAccount The characters remain true, but the story also is just sloppy. you must admit, the writing was sloppy, and the story was basically E.T in a more terrible way, even though this is a childrens film, it is horrible, in fact it was so cheaply made that it was originally going to be put on video, but then the rugrats movie came out, and they thought they could make a big success like the rugrats did which they epically failed at... a lot. Rugrats it ain't.
@matrixfan127 The Herman story is definitely sloppy, but there's also a more enjoyable Doug/Patti story and various subplots that remain true to the style of the show. I wouldn't say it's outright horrible, though. It's pretty predictable and cheesy, but it's still watchable, even though it's more like a TV special than a theatrical movie.
Of course, this isn't my favorite movie or anything, the Rugrats Movie is a far superior show-based movie. I just enjoy this movie as well.
The police don't realize that his last name is BLUFF!?! If anything I would think the boys would be telling the truth. What kid would go through the middle of the night claiming that their friend was kidnapped and told the po po that the guy who kidnapped him last name was BLUFF? Like really, c'mon now.
Does anybody know on why did Patti was breaking up with Doug for? Does she think that Doug was dating the monster or acting crazy? It was kind of weird when she said, "See ya Doug." by speaking in a sarcastic voice.
