@omarnagib09 yes it does. it is compatible with any piece of hardware or software that is midi-capable. i also own the ax50 and it is much better with tracking and speed than rolands products like this. i was really disappointed with roland's gr-20.
Hi, I have a problem with my Axon Ax-50, What sound card do you use in the computer you work with the Axon ?, My computer have the sound card into a boardmother and I can´t heard midi sound.
I'v got a Gibson Les paul wiv an EMG pickup and a line 6 POD, it's got Midi in and out ports but what do I need interms of convertors Midi pickups and cables in order to play my guitar in Ableton Live 8. Any Help wud be much appreciated as this has been pissing me off for a while, cheers.
@Thatsthebadger1 : wrong place to ask, the midi in your POD has nothing to do with playing MIDI ala this video. Your POD just uses the midi to load patches and save them out.
They say its the best on the market at pitch to midi conversion. Has lots of options for dividing the fret board into different zones to trigger different instruments (VST). Even pick position can change the instrument. Pretty advanced. I ordered the ax-50 and a godin xtSA and Im psyched. Big investment (1700$) so it better be damn tight!
Synyh sounds are amazing, the bass is really good until you get into the higher notest, the lead guitar sounded terrible, and piano sounded cheap. However, you can plug into Logic, assign VST instrument patches, and get much better sounds. Thanks for posting, keep in mind there is a lot more than just what you're seeing here
You could...sort of. I used my Axon 100 as a midi controller, plugged into the Proteus 2000. The slow attack stuff worked nicely, but I was riddled with false triggers and ghost notes. Overall, I was pretty disapointed, but because of the problems I would never be able to use it live. I am now selling the axon II on ebay and will replace it with a Yamaha ez-ag to drive midi.
The current pickups don't work as well with bass as guitar. It's because the frequency of bass is lower, which means it takes longer to recognize pitch, which causes a laggy feel.
good video, thanx. Which sustain and volume pedals you use? And how you connect them to AX 50? Axon AX 50 have only 5-pin MIDI IN, and not have 1/4" IN for sustain pedals like Yamaha FC3 or FC7
is it polyphonic? Are there any proper midi-controlling guitar set-ups with volume-strength recognition and conversion, that are polyphonic?

Can you use Axon ax 50 to control synths and keyboards without using computer? Or you must use PC or Mac? Thanks in advance.

You can use the axon 50 to drive a hardware synth, like the Proteus series, but there are no internal sounds on the axon 50.

This seems like one of the tightest MIDI converters I've heard. Very clean. Thanks for sharing this.

It is apparently much better than the Roland Synths, however you'll pay a premium price for the Axon relative to the cost of the Roland.
jjobie 3 years ago
yes, the pickup is faster if you ask me. (i'm using a Godin with Synth Access.
