If we as christians are poor, then how do we help the poor and impoverished? Jesus called us to have an abundant life, and wouldn't money be apart of that? I don't fully align with Creflo Dollar's teaching-altough I don't disagree- but I think we shouldn't condemn somebody from outside appearance. I would prefer a rich christian, than a rich drug lord or criminal. It makes sense, after all Heaven is comprised of walls of 12 different jewels, and it's streets are pure gold!

Tithing as ordered by God in Numbers 18 was given by the 11+ tribes to support the Levite tribe. Levites serviced the Temple. The 11+ tribes were not to come nigh the Temple lest they die. A % of the Tithes were passed up the chain to Aaron, the High priest, who offered a sacrifce of the tithes (spilled the blood and burned the fat of animals on the alter) to God for the sins and blessings of the people. The destiny of tithes is animal sacrifice for sins. If WE do so, Christ has died in Vain.

Yes there are pastors who have ungodly motives in church spendings but they usually get exposed quickly, creflo spends his own money he invested wisely as a therapist years ago in buisnesses in which he has profited from just like a regular buisness men. Well, no, actually. Mr. Dollar has been in "ministry" for pretty much his entire career. He received his bachelors degree in 1984, and started preaching his take on the gospel in 1986. His business is and has always been the prosperity gospel, and he has profited from it, as you say, "just like a regular business man."

All pastors take money from their churches. I am a pastor, and I take my salary from my church. The question is: how much? I take what I need to live, and to insure that I will not become a burden. I live in a small but honest home. I drive used and/or cheap cars. I do not need more than that to be fulfilled, and the rest returns to my ministry to serve others and help proclaim the Gospel.

It seems as if the pastors of churches are indeed stealing from their followers. There are so many churches but so much crime and poverty in the neighborhoods. That approach certainly is valid, and your thoughtfulness is appreciated. However, as Mr. Dollar has made a career of declaring that material prosperity is a sign of God's blessing, some slight umbrage is not uncalled for. What he proclaims has no meaningful foundation in the Gospel, and actively misrepresents the teachings of the Apostle Paul about the relationship between generosity and worldly prosperity in 2 Corinthians. The point is to call it out as such.
I must say the edited out of context compilation does not reflect the truthfulness, nor maintain the context of the interview. So as another blogger said it - What is the point?

Really? The point seems fairly obvious. Creflo has done quite well for himself preaching the Word Faith message. That this message has jack-diddly to do with the Gospel just happens to bother some people.
If we as christians are poor, then how do we help the poor and impoverished? Jesus called us to have an abundant life, and wouldn't money be apart of that? I don't fully align with Creflo Dollar's teaching-altough I don't disagree- but I think we shouldn't condemn somebody from outside appearance. I would prefer a rich christian, than a rich drug lord or criminal. It makes sense, after all Heaven is comprised of walls of 12 different jewels, and it's streets are pure gold!

Tithing as ordered by God in Numbers 18 was given by the 11+ tribes to support the Levite tribe. Levites serviced the Temple. The 11+ tribes were not to come nigh the Temple lest they die. Yes there are pastors who have ungodly motives in church spendings but they usually get exposed quickly, creflo spends his own money he invested wisely as a therapist years ago in buisnesses in which he has profited from just like a regular buisness men. Whatch his sermons, he's a great man with great wisdom and it just so happens that he is a smart buisness man like donald trump. Just because he's a pastor doesnot mean he should be broke. He deserves to have nice things just like everyone else.

Well, no, actually. Mr. Dollar has been in "ministry" for pretty much his entire career. He received his bachelors degree in 1984, and started preaching his take on the gospel in 1986. His business is and has always been the prosperity gospel, and he has profited from it, as you say, "just like a regular business man."

o.k, if indeed the pastor did take money from the church (which is not cool). look at the greater good that has come from this. maybe he started out taking a few bux for investing in whatever buisness he owns, but now he's helping all sorts of people with many charity's with the money that grew. if he did take church money back then, i doubt he does it today. the real question is was mr.dollar being greedy or was he planning something big for gods will?

All pastors take money from their churches. I am a pastor, and I take my salary from my church. The question is: how much? I take what I need to live, and to insure that I will not become a burden. I live in a small but honest home. I drive used and/or cheap cars. I do not need more than that to be fulfilled, and the rest returns to my ministry to serve others and help proclaim the Gospel.
Creflo's house has 9 bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, and is over 10,000 square feet. Is that what he needs?

I'm sure he doesn't need it. Yeah maybe he should live in a smaller house. and drive regular cars like you and me. I always wanted to live comfy but he's a little too comfy, but I don't hate his position cuz god knows that i would love to move my whole family in one big mansion if i could. He can't be taking the churches money to pay his own big bills but if he does it through his buisnesses thats cool. i think that manipulation video on mr.dollar is way more important than the money issue.

If he did it through side businesses I'd be cool with it too. There's nothing wrong with being a successful tentmaker. But that's not where the money comes from.
There are dangers in desiring too much comfort, spiritual dangers that I think Mr. Dollar has both succumbed to and encourages in others. Read 1 Timothy 6: 3-10, and pray over it.

Go to your Bible, and read Luke 4. Then, skip ahead and read Luke 6:24-26. Then, read the Parable of the Sower, which can be found in Luke 8, paying particular attention to verse 14. I could go on, but will not pile on.

Jesus WAS tempted by these things. So, clearly he liked nice things, or it wouldn't have even tempted him.
If Jesus didn't like nice things then why wear a costly robe? If God has anything against money then why give Abraham so much of it?

He was not tempted by "nice things," my friend. If you read Luke 4, you'll grasp that he was tempted by power. The desire for and accumulation of wealth is nothing more or less than the desire and hunger for power. God despises those who seek wealth above all things, for they do not truly seek Him. If Solomon had asked for wealth and not the wisdom to discern good from evil, his reward would have been...different.
And why do you say the tattered robe over which lots were cast was "costly?"

It seems as if the pastors of churches are indeed stealing from their followers. There are so many churches but so much crime and poverty in the neighborhoods. Churches that should be feeding and doing community work for the poor are not. The pastors seem to be very rich and well to do but will tell the followers to be satisfied in the state they're in and at the same time expecting contributions to the ministry. They aren't satisfied with what they're receiving after the plate has been passed.

While I see the underlying message that ministers of God should focus on the Kingdom and the souls instead of possessions, the video clip and the song do not serve justice to this case. Other interviews by this man seem to clear up the confusion brought forward by the opponents. Now, I do not take a side here, and believe that money can be better used to spread the Gospel, correct, but I am persuaded that one has to use fair " IN context" approach when approaching such matters. That approach certainly is valid, and your thoughtfulness is appreciated. However, as Mr. Dollar has made a career of declaring that material prosperity is a sign of God's blessing, some slight umbrage is not uncalled for. What he proclaims has no meaningful foundation in the Gospel, and actively misrepresents the teachings of the Apostle Paul about the relationship between generosity and worldly prosperity in 2 Corinthians. The point is to call it out as such.
