Absolutelly a thing of Beauty I would have loved to have been around in the days of steam in there eveyday years however I did get to witness it in China before they were gone it looked like North America in the 1940s and this was 2009
@PereMarquette1223 It wore a Reading 6 Chime for many trip the first year it ran. Lately, they've been putting on 3 chimes. This CNJ whistle is one of the nicest on 425, atleast I think so.
They look like SD50's, and they can probably get up to national limits, 79mph. Not on here, of course. But I think their main purpose is for additional power and HEP for the carriages, would be my guess.
Adam, this is clearly your best video of 425 yet. The shots seem like that of a true professional, and the angles seem well thought out too. Plus it's easier to take this video seriously without the ROFLbell acting up. Oh, and the CNJ 3 chime sounds (a rarity for me to use this word) beautiful.
I like this whistle on her best, she wears it very nicely

@trainboy911 if they run on mainline track, they need dynamic breaking
trainguy3 2 weeks ago
@smncutler414 If a locomotive is traveling on a mainline track, it must have dynamic breaking, and since steamers don't have them...

Just checked a roster, both 5022 and 5014 are SD50's, ex-UP.
iceman977th 2 years ago
They are there to provide assistance when needed. Those cars do not need HEP.
CSX6000 2 years ago
sd50's cant provide HEP.
