@heylover3 the introduction stated that he was rescued after his mother was killed. There are plenty of animals rescued by zoos, some are even rehabilitated and released, though that's not always the case. I think it's cool they noticed the behavior and gave Claude more sticks to play with.

It's probably just a game to him and I bet the people at the zoo give him treats or extra food when he does it to encourage him. If an animal does something and then gets fed, he's more likely to do it again thinking he'll get rewarded again for it.
