I think he sounds just a coherent in his writing as he does in this interview session. When you have a chance to write, you have a chance to go back and edit yourself, making improvments, and basically perfecting what you want to say. Do not take his tone of voice for granted. His harshness shows through more in his writing than in his daily talk, but I don't think it makes him a fake. By the way, NOTHING is ever 100%, so you can get away from that idea.

The only intelligent, true, and sensible description of Maddox I've found on youtube. I would argue that his "outlet" as you put it is not so innocent as you imply. It's guised as "fun" but as a psychologist I'd characterize it as a socially acceptable expression of his bitterness and disgust at his perception of the status quo. I and most people can relate to Maddox because he articulates what most of us think. I'm a huge fan of his and always will be, because he is me and all of us.
