Okay, I demand as a Dark Lord of the Sith, that you put up a video of Mrs. Bennet from the 1995 version crying after Lizzie rejects Collins proposal. THAT WAS FUNNY!
The 1995 is definitely the best by far. They really stick to the book, and I the acting is definitely better. I'm not very familiar with the earliest one that you showed, but Keira acts too modern and the 1995 mr Collins is just brilliant. He's so arrogant and conceited, he does his part really well. - my opinion :)
"And your wit and vivacity, which I think must be acceptable to her, when tempered with your silence and respect, which her rank will inevitably excite...." HAHAHAH 1995 Mr. Collin's always gives me a great laugh. The smugness, and overall, uneasiness, is rich with awkwardness.
although I like the 2005 version, I do have to admit that there are some scenes that are jarringly different than anything austen would write, the BBC version is the truest one.
I really dislike how the 1940s one has very Victorian costumes in it...plus that Mr Collins was utterly buffoonish. My favourite is David Bamber (his creepiness is unforgettable even after not watching the series for years) though Tom Hollander seems a good Collins as well.
i love that 2005 version. keira is so wonderful and tom is pitiful and cute at the same time. i actually cry when i look that scene. sound funny i know :)
But he's still a creeper. Instead of picking the girl most suited for him (Mary) he went first for Jane, the prettiest, then Lizzie, the second prettiest.
My favourite Mr Collins out of the three presented is David Bamber from 1995 version. The guy from 1940 plays him too much as a bafoon, while from 2005 too little. 1995 is just perfect. Not to mention Mr Bamber plays the character in a very creepy way. You perfectly understand why Lizzie is apalled by the idea.
2005 was the best one ever made for Pride and Prejudice i wish they made the full book as a series with the same actors and keeping the scenes from the 2005 one.
Mr. Collins from the 1995 version is the best, and the worst. Genius

This has got to be one of the funniest scenes in pride and prejudice. I love how you combined all 3 versions. Thanks

The 2005 version made it a bit look like Cutler Beckett proposes to Elizabeth (again)....and gets recjected.
What a surprise.

Ooooh, Mr. BENNET!
Hehe, how I love how different these characters are, yet their chemistry, in the book and on the screen, is so well done. <3

The 1995 'And I will never see you again if you do' is the best. And this just totally misses out on it.. Sad times.

I think Tom is too handsome to play Mr. Collins. In the book he's described in a very unattractive manner.

at 3:56 they are totally ripping off Tom Hollander's hight! He's only 5 foot 5
pryorj2011 3 years ago 2
Well, he was kneeling while she was standing:)..
3houd 3 years ago
Yeah, but even in the ballroom scene he was the shortest guy there by at least a foot and a half.
pryorj2011 3 years ago 2
lol, I always thought that they usually cast tall people, regardless of the talent if these people were not supposed to speak..
But I can't really remember if Mr. Collins is supposed to be short in the novel..
3houd 3 years ago 2
I havn't actually read the novel. It's one of those things that I've been meaning to do but have never quite go around to it.
pryorj2011 3 years ago 2
in the novel he's supposed to be a tall guy i think. So the 1940's should be the closest to the description phisically

OH thank you so much! This is probably the most enjoyable part.
