  • I always get chills when she hits that note at 3:24 .

  • Beautiful song and very well done !

  • She's missing the emotional point of this song...despite being a good performer, James Taylor is the only person who should really ever be singing this song xD!

  • An amazing and beautiful voice!! Angelical voice,, and also a great version!!

  • This is absolutely amazing. You sound just like Alison Krauss.

  • stellar voice

  • She sounds like Charlotte Martin. Beautiful.

  • more passion and range than Norah Jones ? Really swarmmaster ? I must have missed her on the Grammy's as Ms. Jones was picking up 5 awards for best album.

  • @Jaylo64 And that's relevant ... how? The Grammys catered towards Norah's mass-sleep inducing commercial appeal. They only care if you're mainstream/top 40, and sadly, Norah isn't even a blip on their radar anymore since her last howevermany albums completely flopped DESPITE the fact that she was backed by a mainstream label.

  • @Jaylo64 Uh, and there's no way Norah can even compare - Vienna's in a completely different league. Better lyrics, more innovative musically (i.e. her songs don't all sound the same), and is far more polished with her phrasing. And she doesn't play piano like a drama student.

  • WOW!!!

  • Holy Jesus that was great! I play piano with that same feel and I totally got it right away, is was simply astonishing, I found this when I went to hear the JT live version but your version literally made a tear almost shed from my eyes. I don't think I could play this live, I would probably break down. Great performance!

  • simply beautiful!

  • she's amazing,,,nice voice...love it...keep it up

  • what i like about this version is the way her voice grows more forceful at the end as if her frustration and desire has reached a peak. i saw her years ago singing at a borders books and thinking she's got all the makings of a first class singer/songwriter. she hasn't disappointed me yet.

  • love it! does anyone have this song in score? I want it!

  • Her voice gives me chills (even though it's so warm), especially the ending.

She does this song in her own graceful way; if we didn't know it was a cover, it almost could have been one of her originals (if that makes any sense :)

  • What a voice of an Angel

  • Crisp n soul touching voice.

  • That voice is a little bit magical.

  • beautiful.

  • this is freaking awsome

  • can someone help me with the lyrics?

I have this song in a clear edition, but I just can't find the lyrics.

  • Just yesterday morning they let me know you were gone

Susanne the plans they made put an end to you

I walked out this morning and I wrote down this song

I just can't remember who to send it to

I've seen fire and I've seen rain

I've seen sunny days that I thought would never end

I've seen lonely times when I could not find a friend

But I always thought that I'd see you again

  • Won't you look down upon me, Jesus

You've got to help me make a stand

You've just got to see me through another day

My body's aching and my time is at hand

And I won't make it any other way

Oh, I've seen fire and I've seen rain

I've seen sunny days that I thought would never end

I've seen lonely times when I could not find a friend

But I always thought that I'd see you again

  • Been walking my mind to an easy time my back turned towards the sun

Lord knows when the cold wind blows it'll turn your head around

Well, there's hours of time on the telephone line to talk about things

    to come

Sweet dreams and flying machines in pieces on the ground

Oh, I've seen fire and I've seen rain

I've seen sunny days that I thought would never end

I've seen lonely times when I could not find a friend

But I always thought that I'd see you, baby, one more time again, now

  • Thought I'd see you one more time again

There's just a few things coming my way this time around, now

Thought I'd see you, thought I'd see you fire and rain, now

    those are lyric :)

  • thankyouthankyouTHANK YOU SO MUCH!!! ^^

    i love you!

  • she's beautiful, too...

  • This woman is amazing. And I'm a guy who usually listens to rock in its various genres.

  • What exactly has biukucanoe said that was racist? He has just made some observations. And you've obviously never spent much time around the black community. From my experience they are far more racist than the white community. And they get away with it. I'm half white and half black and half spent time in both worlds in case your wondering.

  • I agree with you. (by the way, your nickname is great :D) and I think that buikucanoe was not being racist whatsoever. @enyawix, buikucanoe simply was saying that she's gutsy to have dropped out from the engineer/software program she was in. I think it's admirable that she dropped out for music. I am a piano player as well and I think this is very nice.

  • She's a Stanford CISCO software engineer drop out - outstanding, that takes guts.

  • Cicso engineer is not a software degree program. Cicso study falls under Network engineer or Telecom engineer.

  • He meant she graduated from stanford and worked as a software engineer in cisco.

  • i like your voice!

    wow!

  • AMAZING arrangement!!

  • Great! Wow.

  • This is the best version ever..Better than the original JT version.

  • holy crap... how come ive never heard of her before its like love at first sight here

  • Asian American artists don't sell in North America ... yet, but you could help change that!

  • racism will never cease..i guess.

  • @biukucanoe Why should they....it's bigger world out there than just here.

  • wow. I think I can get through anything with this

  • <3.

  • she´s so amazing!

Im totally in love with her songs.. *,*

  • BEAutiful! Vee's so wicked!

  • Vienna Teng + James Taylor songs.... soooo awesome!

  • An amazing version. She has way more range and passion than Norah Jones. I like Norah, but Vienna is in another world entirely.

  • Much more folky soul vs Norah's jazzy/blues sound.

  • @swarmmaster I liken Vienna to Enya.

  • Simply awesome! I love her version of this song. I have officially become hooked on Vienna's songs. I'm going to see her in Milwaukee in August...thanks to youtube for making videos like this available. The ending of this song is the BEST!!!

  • That's really interesting, because I don't really like strong male voices in my music.

I'm into whispery Norah Jones, and also the video's quality is a pit of a poop.

    -K

  • She doesn't sound ANYTHING like Norah Jones.

  • Simply beautiful.

  • Amazing. Just love the last part.

  • Stunning. Wish I could buy an mp3 of this cover. It's one of my favorite songs and I absolutely love this version.

  • "Amazing"

  • brilliant!

  • Why doesn't this woman get more coverage form the American musical media? A little racial undertone?

  • I agree, but nto on the racial thing. Taiwanese are amazing!!! lol im kinda glad shes not more popular, because it keeps the concerts more intimate. shes like a haven in some sort of hellish world

  • Tottaly dude! nicely put!

  • Of course I love the original by JT, but this is am AMAZING version!

  • Yes, a great James Taylor song, and a really great cover. She sometimes sings with a sort of thin voice, but she's really solid on this one. I wanna see her play live.

  • i never hear of this one from in any of her ablums. probalby gonna be releast in her next one

  • This is a cover from James Taylor lol

  • ooo,,i c, thx

  • Great song, incredible music, exceptional voice...

  • you just gotta love her piano playing.

Babyface did really good vocals on this one. James Taylor's has the most emotion, though.

  • James Taylor was the best but Vienna Theng does the best next virsion........and thats pretty Cool......

  • I only found this superb version of Fire and Rain a few days ago.. and now a dear friend has suddenly passed, it means even more. So sad yet so wonderful.

  • wow, tears, emotion, and hope all wrapped up in one.... vienna your voice is hypnotic and your style is fresh and energized...

  • Why I love this site!! She is as lovely as her music. I would have thought that impossible since I heard her cd first. Thanks for posting it!

  • i think that was amazing, increadible voice and the playing was melodic!

  • wow!

  • i think the first base note wasn't played but aside from that, this is a great version...:)

  • two thumbs up!

  • I rarely like covers... I normally don't like the way it's handled... people remove the emotional tone of the music by speeding up or slowing down but I like this verson very much

    She is a wonderful artist

  • I can't find the words to describe how much I adore Vienna's music.

Inspirational and beautiful don't do her justice.

  • After twelve million covers of Fire and Rain by James Taylor himself, this is indeed refreshing - and beautiful. Let's face it - you don't exactly hear a barrage of women doing this tune. The clunky piano is the downside, but just lovely, nonetheless.

  • dang! she's good

  • GREAT! Your the lady of my dream who knows how to play the piano and singing my favorite song of JT! Wish you come and perform in the Philippines.

  • This is cool, that she is lending her talent to this song is just so...incredible. I guess.

  • True...her covers are usually better than the originals.

  • This is really pretty the way she sings it...

  • I love her. :-) Normally I don't like covers by anyone... I find, though, that I often like her covers more by her than the original artist.
