@tipitjo I noticed inconsistency in the passage (1.13-1.22), they were from 2e régiment de chevau-légers lanciers de la Garde impériale (Dutch), not 1er régiment de chevau-légers lanciers polonais de la Garde impériale (Poles).

That's not Polish Colors; it's the lancers insignia. Poles fighting in the Imperial Army fought under the French Flag.
