Its a beautiful summer evening.You open the patio doors, break out the beer & wine coolers, light the grill, and turn this on the stereo just loud enough that it permeates the whole house. It took me 13 years to find out the name of this song.

Radio stations used to only play it just before their top of the hour break & never announce the title. I never got a reply from stations when I emailed to ask. In 1996 I taped part of it on my boombox and kept that for years.

Finally, I heard it on XM and got the name off the display! Happy day when I bought it on iTunes!

This was originally released as "19(95): The Jazzmasters Melody," and had most of the familiar choruses and samples used in Hardcastle's classic "19." The "choir"-ish melody you hear was first used in part of a 31-minute "mega-medley", the title track off his '88 album "No Winners." For the American release, according to the album notes, there was a contest in a smooth jazz station somewhere to give this new, voice-less version a title. "Inner Changes" won. Confused yet?
