I say we make a push for BET to open their awards show this year with this song. They should do whatever they can to get the surviving artists together to sing this song. Find Deangelo and MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!! The black youth today need to see this.
This song is timeless!!! I love love love it!!! The message still reigns strong. What happened to this kind of authentic music??? Artists of this calibre are like a dying breed. I wish this music would come back instead of this fake r n b that has taken over. I miss the 90s *bb sad face*.
I love this song. So many great voices/great acts united to make a major powerful song like this. H-Town, Tony Tony Tone, R. Kelly, Gerald Levert, Kieth Sweat, Brian McKnight, Tevin Campbell, Boyz II Men, Christopher Williams, El Debarge, etc. I wish artist would come together like that these days.
BET- This needs to be the next old school tribute section of the next awards show. I know Gerald Levert is gone and can never be replaced but Christopher Williams' voice is still on point.
Thanks God for You tube so ppl can relive the Greatness in Entertainment...... 90's 80's and 70's but I love the 90's I was born in 87' but I like the 80's too.... Man Classic Music...
@reknowvator11 They're separate acts that recorded a song for a soundtrack. The acts on We Are The World, Do They Know It's Christmas?, Sun City, etc only did one song too.
This and "Freedom" from the Panther Soundtrack are the best songs from R&B period. How genius was it to have talented female artists collaborate and make a song and then have talented male artists collaborate to make a song?! GENIUSS!!
@COMPFUNK2 I think it was Johnny Gill singing, even though they showed Wanye from Boyz II Men. It was Keith Sweat, then the guy from After 7, then Johnny Gill.
I love this song!! Mehn I miss talented artists..

I don't believe it brothas singing without autotune!
I'm so glad I was ther ewhen this track came out!
SparkSide 3 months ago 13
@SparkSide autotune has always been around its the same the talk box just different settings
bigcuz46 2 days ago
@bigcuz46 The talkbox and vocoder are actual instruments that have to be played. Autotune is just computer software. It's not the same thing.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
they must not have been too united since they only made one song

@yetlovelydoe that was petty to do Joe like that. They could've showed his face. lol. Still a good song though.

That is definitely NOT Johnny Gill; there's no mistaking JG's voice.
