In 1957, probation didn't matter, because the final poll was realeased in late november before bowl season. Bowl ban didn't matter, because the bowl had no affect on a ranking. Auburn does not claim 2004. Check the official website, check the fucking stadium itself, Auburn claims 57, and 2010. Auburn was 13-9 against bama before bear. Auburn is 17-12 against bamasince bear retired. Dumbass. Also, all of Bear's assistant coaches went on to coach cheating teams. Coincidence?

But, even that is irrelevant considering that is not how the national championship worked at all. The national champion was selected before the bowl season. Bama lost two game in their conference and finished third in their conference. If they weren't even the best in their conference, then how can they be the best in the nation? @205seeme I am not comparing AU to bama. I am saying that five of bama's titles are complete bullshit. In 1983, Bama claimed six titles. There is a picture of a bama program that proves this. They won in 1992 and in 2009. That would make eight. But bama decided to boost their stats by going back and cliaming any NC that could possibly be claimed.

Auburn got in trouble during the Pat Dye era and the Shug Jordan era for directly paying players. Dye even had a payment plan similar to SMU's when Auburn was winning SEC titles in the 80s. Alabama has been put on major probation twice - Auburn has been slapped SEVEN times with major NCAA sanctions.
