everyone should buy or download guitar trio is my life.
took me a while to realize just how great it is. you start to hallucinate sounds while you listen to it (the sounds are there, but it feels as if they aren't). quite an experience.
OK, so that's definitely Greg Norton from Husker Du playing bass right? The drummer looks like a drummer I knew at NYU, but I don't think that's him. Does anyone recognize anyone else there?
i used to think i had an open mind since i really dig listening to music of all kinds, not necesarily commercial music .. but i`m having a hard time getting into chatham .. is all of his music like this? i got to know about him through pfork
Legend or not, I cannot make head or tail out of this piece. How can you call 4 discordant noted played in monotonous repetition as music? But then, I have never been able to appreciate "Modern Art" either. Neither Abstract art. I suppose this piece would surely classify as abtsract music!!
bluepyedpiper: my suggestion is to listen very carefully and allow yourself to ascend into a meditative state, embracing the monotony. then, just when you think that it's exactly the same as a moment ago, you'll come to reality again and realize that something, ever so slightly, has indeed changed. it's these subtle little differences that make music like this beautiful. (not that this is the most splendid example of minimalist composition, but it does deserve a good listen i feel.)
Thank you, blessing, for the suggestion. I did try it, and even got to make out some of the differences you were talking about. However, I don't think it is my cup of tea. Nonetheless, Thanx.

His music is extremely different. It is amazing live. It's the only way to judge it fairly.

I believe music to be logical, very real.
