Very different from the SNES version. There's no Mode-7 scaling, no digitized music samples and the action looks pretty diluted. You're better off playing Doom while listening to an Aerosmith album.
When you look at this game online, it's considered mostly a joke or it gets bad reviews. Y'know, Revolution X catches a lot of flack! When magazines and gaming websites make fun of a game, it sorta becomes the official word, and most people can't make up their own damn minds, that they'll go ahead and believe this game sucks! So what can I tell you? I think Revolution X is a great game, my friends used to play it all the time, and my local arcade in Newcastle stayed pretty busy!

@cbazan66 that's because the Genesis had inferior sound processors than the SNES which was even capable of dishing out good sound.
