which brand did you use, i went to the site that was listed: mydigitaldiscount, and they don't make a specific one for hp's so which did you use? the acer?
Just wondering, if I just want to turn this netbook into a touchscreen and not into a tablet as I still like the keyboard, would the top panel be thick enough to install this touch screen?
frickin sweet!, just a few ???'s which kit did you get from that website? I have an 1116nr and wanna do the same but your screen also looks larger than mine, just curious.
After watching your last video, I decided to fallow you on youtube, and seams it was a good choice. another good video.
And yeah, I installed Win7 on an HP Touch Smart, once you run the Handwriting recognition personalization, it gets MUCH better at detecting your writing.
Seeing how you finish up the mod, and secure the components should be another interesting video.
Thanks, I'm glad you're enjoying my videos. I'll definitely run the handwriting personalization and i'm gonna start looking into some other cool tablet software that might be good for people to know about. and yeah, I'm still working out how to close this thing up myself actually. Might have to temporarily rig something til i get access to a machine shop.
i understand, but the screen responds to lighter touches with the stylus (due to the focused pressure) and without the screen permanently secured i don't want to push down too hard for fear of breaking something.
i don't find it stupid... fingers are great for clicking but for writing/typing the stylus is easiest i find.
also, the intent of the tablet is for taking notes in class... i'm trying to replace my huge 5-subject notebooks with this little guy so to me the stylus makes sense.
this is awesome..whered you get it...i have a 10" mini

great work. Wish you could have showed us how to do it though

@needhelp1990 technically i could show how it's done but since this is a plug and play USB touchscreen there wasn't much to show.

my guess would be yes, you'd prolly have to modify it a little though.

I got the Kit for the 10.1" touchscreens. I think they have one for the 8.9" models as well.

Nice project, but you do realize you can get a HP tx2z convertible multitouch tablet for around $700.

Ahhh didn't know about that option.
I already had the mini so i went this route. Although that's definitely an alternative.

Why you don't write with your fingers?...
Using an stylus is kinda... Stupid.
