I watched many of your videos last night just preparing myself for my big chop today after 3.5 mths of transitioning. I am an island girl too from the Bahamas and it was comforting to get such honest and helpful advise straight down to the final look with the makeup. My old hair is gone and in with the new.It's about 2" on the top and I got it tapered on the sides and the back so it's super cute and the most shocking.....it's naturally curly. Thanks for the inspiration!

When women do "THE BIG CHOP" why do they feel like they have to get use to there hair immediately? Think about it. your whole life your hair was most likely long and straight. Take your time getting use to your new hair. wear extensions get a wig until you get use to your natural hair and feel beautiful again. you dont have to feel ugly or think u look like a boy. take your time.

Know this is off topic but what Mac product was that you used before you put on the blush it made all the oil in your face go away. I have a problem with that wonder if it MT work on my oily cheeks Cuz I put blush on and then I get all oily n shiny and bam it dissappears...

She eventually came around and likes it now. All that matters is that YOU like it. Find which way looks best on you (for me it's putting my fringe back) and I feel like I ROCK it when I do! x
Hahaha. My mom sort of did the same thing, but instead of gay, she said I looked like a boy. But after I styled with a nice pair of big earrings, some pink lip gloss, and a cute little hair tie, she thought I was fly. Just work with what you got and dress it up, girl. ^__^

Of course not! In fact, men with long hair look even more masculine. Work your look with earrings, whatever makeup you feel like wearing, scarves, and most of all, your own attitude and posture. When you feel good about yourself it shows. I reject the long, straight hair=beauty paradigm.
Ive transitioned since november of 2o1o til may 2o11 and my hair will not curl its hard for me to wear it. I wanted it to be curlier like yours but it just will not work.

I love this video! I felt like a fat, red boy when I got my big chop! I had to learn to experiment with color, jewelry, cosmetics and accessories. It's been 6 months now, and sometimes I really miss my big chop hair!
I chopped off my hair January 10, 2011. I woke up and thought I made a mistake, but it only lasted a few minutes. My only concern is the fact I have alopecia. Thanks for this video.

@blahblahblahman . Don't be so hard on yourself. Have faith! Work from the inside out. For your acne, look at your total diet. Are you eating junk food - a lot of sugar? Drinking pop? Not drinking water with a squeeze of lemon juice? Work with a nutritionist or any knowledgeable person. Do some reading and research. You WILL find answers. Good luck!

I used some of these tips after my big chop. And this may seem like a silly question, But my ears are tiny and kind of stick out on the sides, do you know any thing i can do for that? And where did you get that huge earring holder, I need one!!

i do my bc in a few days and this was a concern of mine... and then i decided I'd just have to focus on clear skin, eyebrows, and accessories accessories, and more accessories. i'm gonna make people want short hair as well~~ lol

Oh my goodness! I need to hear this i just did the BC last friday! I am 38 yr old have always had mid back length, my mother asked my 9 yr old son who was that man with you! I was so pissed,, but yeah i have been getting reactions from both sides, they say oh it looks so cute, the other sides says WHY did you cut your hair it was so pretty, and i respond " I STILL DO"
