Final Fantasy and Golden Sun are both JRPG's, yes. But nonetheless these two series are so different considering gameplay, setting, charas etc. So a proper simile isn't good at all, because they are great in their own way.
I like Final Fantasy as much as Golden Sun and I hope, that both series will reminisce to their roots (dislike button for stupid gameplay of FF13)

So yes by trying to light the light houses they are doing something good, but for bad reasons (subjugating everyone else in Weyard)
@nacreserut They were "ends-justify-the-means" style characters. They didn't care how evil they had to be to save their village as long as it was saved. And for it, they were seen as villains, fought, and killed. Oddly enough, Alex is the most villainous, but acts the least evil, going so far as to actually help Matthew in Dark Dawn by holding off the Tuaparang pair as he tries to light the Apollo Lens.
@Eskizofrenik Actually, they brought it back and gave it to the optional bosses because everyone who played this game LOVED this theme and seeing it again makes us happy.
Much as I hate GS's battle system and level design, I really like the villains. They're such nice people. Now if only they and the heroes could communicate better...

@SeniorThe12 i didn't really suck but they could've done a lot more with it if they stuck to the old graphics... and i agree it was too easy, i remember the old Golden Sun games weren't really too hard except the last bosses were IMPOSSIBLE, the boss in DD is still a little hard but i beat him at lvl 44 without the best summons... i was dissapointed i hope they do better with the sequel
@Flavio311291 the only reason i had trouble with the first fight with saturos is because i did it before the kolima forest, of course i murdered tret because of that, so i guess it still balances out as easy

@Muggizz I agree with you when we talk about Halo, it's not such a bad game and the books are really good, but WoW and CoD are games which are made only for the money, I just don't see the passion of the developers behind those games. Look at WoW for example, the brand Warcraft once stood for some famous games, but with WoW it stands for profit-oriented brands like Blizzard. And you can't say that half as much people know the real story of WoW than players of GS for example do.

There's just one thing I DONT get about RPG. Why do you play ANY game and find that random battles' thems are (almost) always good, bosses/secret bosses' themes are (almost) always VERY good and Final Bosses' themes ARE CRAP?
I mean, Fusion Dragon? The hell, that theme was like awful T_T

The thing I mostly found intriguing about saturos, menardi, karst, and agatio; yes they were brutish in their tactics but they just wanted to save the world. It's not like they were the true bad guys even though they did quite a bit of plotting of course but most of it was fueled because of their homeland being on the brink of existance. In a way I wish they had been in the final fight as companions =\
@MCpharao Make sure mia atleast has wish well in her psyenergy list! keep a close eye on the health meter of your allies. i recomend you to use wish well every turn, especially of you're lv 30.
You're totally right ! He's my favourite character in Golden Sun, in the 1st game he is super boos with great moves and imba music, and in 2nd it's revealed that he tried to protect his hometown, too bad he dies during his mission, was really sad when i had to kill him :(
@luigimario94 Exactly! And the venus lighthouse already provided power to him once. That blast of energy surely gave he and Mernadi enough power to survive the fall if Felix and Sheba did.
@Chronische they never will survive the blast of energy searing through their body, after the fell in the well. the only reason felix and sheba survivedwas cuz they jumped in the OCEAN and didnt hit a rock
Saturos My Favorite Villian. It surprised me because i played the lost age beforew the first one and i was VERY surprised to know that Felix was one of the main villians.... HEH HEH
I played the lost age before the first one aswell, and I think that made the first one better somehow, everything was hyped up including Saturos and Menardi who I heard so much about in TLA, but never got to see them, Angara and North Gondowan, Mercury Lighthouse, Venus lighthouse I couldnt wait to see it all, I thought you would end up backtracking the places in the lost age for whatever reason, then when I beat doom dragon I was gutted that you couldn't! Then I got Golden Sun!
Yes, he did. if he and Menardi had been less abrupt and violent, he could've done a lot more for his cause. Kidnapping Jenna and Kraden (and Sheba!), trying to kill Isaac repeatedly, nearly downing his own ally Felix at the end of GS I...Saturos and Menardi had what was coming to them. The same could be said for Karst and Agatio. If they could've put their feud with Isaac aside, Mars Lighthouse would've been lit much easier and quicker, saving Prox.
Yeah, during the first few playthroughs of golden sun i thought of them as ruthless. But once you know their motives, they seem a lot more kind and less menacing, just doing their job and using whatever they can find to aid them.
Whee Saturos! It's too bad he died. =[ He was such a nice guy to Issac and co. unlike Menardi. Heheh. He sure could do with more HP. Died faster than I expected in both battles
Some how... I get the feeling that they are going to ruin the GS series with golden sun DS...idk how, but i get the feeling cause it has happened before with other games.

Seiken densetsu 3- the sacrifice part 3
Final fantasy 4- Zeromus
Paper mario- bowser (the track was realy good)
Final fantasy III - dark cloud
The fusion dragon tried to blow the fear into you with its dissonance and awkward use of harmonys.
It failed to scare me though, beat deadbeard first^^

The thing I mostly found intriguing about saturos, menardi, karst, and agatio; yes they were brutish in their tactics but they just wanted to save the world. It's not like they were the true bad guys even though they did quite a bit of plotting of course but most of it was fueled because of their homeland being on the brink of existance. In a way I wish they had been in the final fight as companions =\

@MCpharao Make sure mia atleast has wish well in her psyenergy list! keep a close eye on the health meter of your allies. i recomend you to use wish well every turn, especially of you're lv 30.

I agree. This song is amazing. The way it switches back and forth between 4/4 time and 5/4 time is very distinctive.

You're totally right ! He's my favourite character in Golden Sun, in the 1st game he is super boos with great moves and imba music, and in 2nd it's revealed that he tried to protect his hometown, too bad he dies during his mission, was really sad when i had to kill him :(

Saturos only LOOKS to be dead. He could still be alive at the bottom of the Venus Lighthouse.

@luigimario94 Exactly! And the venus lighthouse already provided power to him once. That blast of energy surely gave he and Mernadi enough power to survive the fall if Felix and Sheba did.

@Chronische they never will survive the blast of energy searing through their body, after the fell in the well. the only reason felix and sheba survivedwas cuz they jumped in the OCEAN and didnt hit a rock

Saturos My Favorite Villian. It surprised me because i played the lost age beforew the first one and i was VERY surprised to know that Felix was one of the main villians.... HEH HEH

I played the lost age before the first one aswell, and I think that made the first one better somehow, everything was hyped up including Saturos and Menardi who I heard so much about in TLA, but never got to see them, Angara and North Gondowan, Mercury Lighthouse, Venus lighthouse I couldnt wait to see it all, I thought you would end up backtracking the places in the lost age for whatever reason, then when I beat doom dragon I was gutted that you couldn't! Then I got Golden Sun!

You didn't care to pay attention to the first few minutes of the game (Lost Age)?
They do a total recap of who is good/evil and what happened in the beginning.
Thats when i was pissing my pants cause it made me so excited, and even though I wanted to jump on playing, didn't wanna cut this cenematic :D

Yes, he did. if he and Menardi had been less abrupt and violent, he could've done a lot more for his cause. Kidnapping Jenna and Kraden (and Sheba!), trying to kill Isaac repeatedly, nearly downing his own ally Felix at the end of GS I...Saturos and Menardi had what was coming to them. The same could be said for Karst and Agatio. If they could've put their feud with Isaac aside, Mars Lighthouse would've been lit much easier and quicker, saving Prox.

Yeah, during the first few playthroughs of golden sun i thought of them as ruthless. But once you know their motives, they seem a lot more kind and less menacing, just doing their job and using whatever they can find to aid them.
