When it was clear he was in a very bad way (or dead), I remonstrated with them about their lack of response. I swore at them but then who wouldn't. The club responded by barring me for three years for (and I quote) "abusing female nursing staff". It seems that's their stock answer to every dispute!
It looks like you video shows the collar badge number 11088 on the shoulder of one of the officers. If I were you I would make a formal complaint to the Independent Police Complaints Commission. That way they will be forced to at least explain their actions even if no further action is taken. You don't have to be the victim to make a complaint. Although no doubt you feared for your own safety and was quite badly shaken witnessing this unprovoked assault.

from what you see in this video, what can you bring forward as sufficient evidence that the steward of which you are talking about has actually done anything wrong? because from what i can see, he was attempting to do his job, and the crowd of people of which surrounded them, weren't helping as they only wished to stop the steward and the police from doing there job, which the inevitable had happened only latter due to the crowds delay.

Celtic fans recently conducted a string of protests because the council said we were in breach of health and safety at celtic park. we protested to the celtic board and Celtic fc have now commissioned a report into standing sections at celtic park. it could actually happen.
@hoops67daft Do a bit of research first. The 2 blocks next to where this bloke was lifted are a designated singing section and as such a lenient stance is employed with regards to standing. Block 109 is effectively an extension of that section but the club recently asked people to remain seated there - but this came after some had re-located their season tickets to that section as they were informed they could stand there. Most people in that block were stood up while this was all kicking off.
GMP & SHOWSEC were not disgraceful the old man was he as been banned from eight pubs that i know of for his foul mouth and causing trouble in the last 12months and it's not the first time he's been ejected from city

from what you see in this video, what can you bring forward as sufficient evidence that the steward of which you are talking about has actually done anything wrong? because from what i can see, he was attempting to do his job, and the crowd of people of which surrounded them, weren't helping as they only wished to stop the steward and the police from doing there job, which the inevitable had happened only latter due to the crowds delay.

The old man appears to be sitting in the seat when he's being man handled. The Police get involved and try to cuff him which if its for standing up is a joke. They then back down and one steward wades in on top of the old man to try and force him out the seat which seems to be heavy handed and the whole situation seems to have been dealt with out of hand. The old man has probably arrested or disobeyed police orders. But thats still no way to treat an old man with a heart condition!

Maybe people could boycott some games at Eastlands until these people are identified and sacked. It’s about time the authorities got their heads out of the sand and realise that football fans want to stand and will continue to do so, however many people they chuck out and ban! They should do the right thing finally and give us a safer way of doing it, in safe standing areas!

@hoops67daft Do a bit of research first. The 2 blocks next to where this bloke was lifted are a designated singing section and as such a lenient stance is employed with regards to standing. Block 109 is effectively an extension of that section but the club recently asked people to remain seated there - but this came after some had re-located their season tickets to that section as they were informed they could stand there. Most people in that block were stood up while this was all kicking off.

And if you watch without sound and keep pausing it when you see any crowd shots, you can see that no one else looks particularly bothered by what's going on. They don't look angry or anything. They probably saw what we didn't see before the filming started, 'some guy' doing 'something' Security tries to speak to him but refused to cooperate. And the guy filming is doing a lot of shouting which makes it 'seem' worse, is anyone else??

The old guy was playing up to the crowd. Should have just gone & spoke to stewards. He even faked a collapse to get sympathy. If it was a real collapse then he wouldn't have been 'sent on his way' as the Manchester Evening News article says.
At no point did GMP show any signs of disgraceful behaviour to me. The cops looked calm in the footage to me, no batons either when they got crowded round. Lots of City fans stirring it up on here I think.

I worked for Showsec for a couple of years and most of the stewards were professional people or studying. I worked with teachers, nurses and a research scientist. There was the odd one or two gung ho types but in the main the stewards were reasonable respectable people. Sadly the same cannot be said of the City fans and visiting fans we had to sit between.
