1. Get some Q-TIPS and take cotton off enough to make them small enough to fit in your jack.

2. Put rubbing alcohol or nail polish remover, (as the alcohol will rid any corrosion) on one of the Q-TIP ends and clean the jack throughly.

3.Have about three extra Q-TIP rnds handy and dry the jack well.

This won't completely fix it, but will make it a thousand times better (:

@ohmyclumsyheart Try it. If you can't get professionals to fix it then you have nothing to lose. I did it with my iPod several times and it still works like new (the cover is scratched up quite a bit, but I have a cover for it so I don't really mind). Trust me, the only way to break your iPod by opening it is if you're using a hammer...

If u r having this problem & don't have time 2 get it fixed right away I know how 2 make both earbuds work. U have to halfway plug in the earbuds in the jack. It works on I touches I know tht 4 sure but idk if it works on all types of iPods
