Since Dwight Stones there hasn't been another dominant US high jumper.

Zhu is so tall that he should have high jumped well over 8 feet. With better technique and his natural height advantage, he should have outjumped everyone and set records no one could touch.

The thing about Zhu's jump was his radical angle of attack and his drive leg (inside). he hols it up the whole time? Compare it to Austin. Unreal.

Sotomayor was doing something illegal. 1) He broke the record before mandatory drug testing. 2)He is from Cuba which does not have the best record for "clean" athletes. 3) He eventually tested positive for Cocaine stimulants and was banned for one year from competition. Best of all time?...I don't think so.

You're 100% correct. Sotomayor also tested positive for steroids. This is a great forum to recognize the gifted jumpers who did it clean. I tip my hat to Charles Austin, Hollis Conway, Stefan Holm, Arthur Partyka, Patrick Matzdorf and the man who made the new heights possible - Richard Fosbury.

I thinks with or without stimulants Sotomayour prevailed for so long that he deserves credit for his greatnes, even tough I was not a fan, besides nowadays regretfully is rare to find a world class athlete who dosent take Performance-enhancing drugs. This beig said yes and the numbers speak for themselves hes to date the best highjumper ever.

Javier Sotomayor is the best high jumper of alltime, and there's no of his jumps. Can't be a great video about high jump whithout the greatest high jumper ever.
