I've been working as a cashier for a month and 75% of the customers are polite, but the rest can be such a**holes toward you even for things that are against the store policy or are out of your control. I had a customer complain to me about a price check AFTER I rung her up and she was cleared out of my register. Once it is out of the register they have to go to customer service with their receipt to get it fixed. She got so upset with me for this.

lol, i work at kmart and it is like this. i'm not going to lie i do have my little coversations with my fellow co workers, but when a customer comes, i shut up and make sure they are okay, and answer any of their questions

I worked at kmart when I was younger, it was truly a fun job, but once you learned that you were nothing but a peon and would never earn anything it sucked. I have to say this though, the type of work we did was pretty hard, unloading trucks by hand with no equipment was tough. Always on call, even despite the fact that we were doing another job got old too. We never had enough workers. Most days the store would open with only 6 employees. Oh well, it's out of business now!

i dont blame employees for slackin at work. for real, we have the SHITTIEST MANAGERS EVER. theres more to it than you may think for real. we are overworked, yelled at when we are against the policy yet they can do it all day (such as denying the open door policy 3 times) and underpaid. give us a break. thats y im quitting. getting my old job back tomorrow.
