  • If that's the case what about a fixed knife with a 5" handle and a 7" blade. Calling it a 12" knife wouldn't tell us the size of the blade. If you check out 18" switchblade uploaded by Mitch9114, the blade appears to be 18 " but I could be wrong.

  • @TheCaleyman Usually the blade length is also given in the listing but it is pretty obvious in this case that the blade is almost as long as the handle, so about maybe 5"+.

  • Sorry I didn't know. Never had one. Had a stiletto type a long time ago which had to be manually opened and closed. I am in the UK where I don't think you could ever buy switchblades, or as we called them flick knives openly in a shop. And now the laws concerning selling, buying and carrying any type of knife have recently been tightened up. There are one or two people on You Tube who do mention blade size. eg Mitch

  • @TheCaleyman Yeah, I am coming from a state that didn't allow people to carry switches but did allow collection and only allowed a 2" blade or less, period. By contrast in AZ even concealed handguns are allowed without a background check or permit. So a switchblade is like a sword against a gun, like in Indiana Jones. :) Perfectly legal to carry.

  • Abit misleading to call it an 11 inch swithblade. What's the length of the blade? 5 inches?

  • @TheCaleyman What is misleading about it? That's how switch blades and all knives are measured. From tip to butt.
