Your mind isn't cre8iv in any way!! 4500 years is plenty of time for the diversity of all the human and animal population, you just WISH it wasn't. Tell me how marine life fossils are found on mountain tops all over the world, without using words like, uplift, leonardo da vinci, seabeds, and so on.
@ironman197268 A flood cannot explain the presence of marine shells on mountains because floods erode mountains and deposit their sediments in valleys. Other evidence, such as fossilized tracks and burrows of marine organisms, show that the region was once under the sea. Seashells are not found in sediments that were not formerly covered by sea. 4500 years is not nearly enough time if you understand genetics and taxonomy.
@cre8ivmind Floods erode mountains Huuhhh? A global flood is what pushed up major mountain ranges bringing the fossils with them that are found on their tops. Genetics and taxonomy...Please, the Earths HUMAN population alone went from1 billion to almost 7 billion in just over 200 years.
@cre8ivmind I didn't misunderstand anything, you misunderstood me. If the human population can grow at that rate, the humans and animals that came off the Ark, could repopulate, and migrate to all parts of the Earth in 4500 years easily. What's your obsession with this genetics and taxonomy stuff?
@ironman197268 Genetics and taxonomy are important because it takes millions of years to get all the diversity that we have. I don't know what your take on the biblical "kinds" are, but whatever it is, it is incompatible with our current knowledge of genetics and taxonomy. There are millions of described species, and not all of them could have fit on the ark. Creationists tend to say there were fewer "kinds" but that microevolution allowed for more diversity later.
@ironman197268 The idea of "kinds" producing more species later is wrong because we have countless examples of different species that cannot interbreed that creationists claim have micro-evolved from the same "kind" that had descended from the ark.
This has got to be the WORST global flood video rebuttal ever!! Why would The Bible give specific dimensions for the size of the Ark, if it's just a metaphor? A local flood is absolutely insane, why did God have Noah build an ark instead of just moving everybody away from this "so called" local flood? Special diets? You obviously don't know your Bible, check out Genesis 1:29-30.
local flood garbage does not represent the bible's version. a quote from genesis, king james-" And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die." i hope everything in the bible is a metaphor. like stoning a disobedient child really means, spank him.
How refreshing. Although we'll have to agree to disagree on the existence of a superior being who judges us individually, i have to say that i enjoyed the video. It's nice to see someone of faith on here who doesn't have fundamentalist views & can apply logic. Creationists really don't understand the damage they are doing to your religion.
This story is so ridiculous. How can anyone, who graduated from kindergarten believe such nonsense. It shows that true believers have lost all sense of reality. Peace !!
@petercourt the point is that the bible is true the few things that make it seam unreal is the fact that the flood happend and noahs ark literally took place
Once again, something I really agree with. I'm really glad I found some people that share the same views I do because I felt I was quite alone in my ideas and some fundamentalists really weren't being logical and I was finding the bridge between something that only I was on. I think the bible says something about clean and unclean animals. Back in those days there were like, 7 sets of clean animals and 12 unclean. I'm not sure about this but that seems to make more sense.
I disagree. Primarily because Noah is linked to Jesus in the genealogies. When do the genealogies cease to become symbolism? Regarding point one, we don't really know the specifications. The actual size of a cubit and such are known for later periods, but not from the time of Moses. The rest of your arguments refute a global, not a local flood.

@ironman197268 You totally misunderstood. The Earth's human population has NOTHING to do with genetics or taxonomy.

@cre8ivmind I'd like to know what creationists says a dog micro evolved into a coyote. Speciation is all in the DNA man.

I guess it's hard to tell whether or not it's metaphorical or literal, but in the long run, it's not that important.
Learn what you can from the story and apply it to your life.

What do you think is the purpose of including a metaphorical flood? What point is trying to be given?
petercourt 3 years ago
According to Philo of Alexandria, the Flood is a metaphor for the cleansing of the soul; the Ark represents the body and Noah the righteous mind.

Why can't people just believe? - Because they don't have faith.
Faith is the evidence.
either you do or you don't.

1)What else? steel? :D
2)Many species, TODAY!
3)You get a new spiecie in a single generation! How many generations of dogs can there be in 6000 years time?
4)Left out the factor of the presence of God
4.1)again.. they took 2 of EACH KIND, not species, for Heavens sake, get this through your skull! And it did not last for a year!
5)Such as?..
6)fosilised snails on tops of mountains; upside-down trees in the strata layers; sudden death fossils; basicly the extinstion of dinosaurs!??
7) like, why?
