  • it looks scared all the time.

  • What an angel! I used to have a dog named Frazier, who WAS named because he was so much like Eddie. Your Frasier is cute as can be. It's a lovely video.

  • i have a mini aussie and ive been training him really well he knows sit,lay down, high five, etc.they are very smart and a lot of work!

  • have you called it Frasier because of the program frasier? with Frasier Crane?

  • @viss3n - no. Actually, since the color of Frasier is "red" we wanted a name that is associated with the color red and the French word for strawberry (a red colored fruit) is "fraise". So we derived his name that way.

  • he's so adorable

  • Great description! There is lots of info for Aussie "wanters" in there! Cute dog! (good idea for the name!)

  • He looks so bored haha

  • Hi! Can I ask where you got Frasier?

I am looking for a small toy!

    Thanks

    Kim

  • SOOOOOO cute! I love his ears! I have a big red aussie. :)

  • i dont think mine is a toy? but his so cute!!!!! his head is all black an his bdey is all white except one black patch!

  • How precious! I have a bg red one, I should get a little one to be his friend! :D

  • My family got a mini aussie...hes not so mini stands 23" at the shoulder...both his parents were under 16"

  • oh..i love him my dog got hit by a car... :(

  • he's soooo cute. what breeder did you get him from if you don't mind me asking?? I'm looking for a toy. they're perfecttt

  • Tommorow will be our one year anniversary with Frasier. We adopted him and I don't know breeders of smaller aussies. Sorry. I do HIGHLY recommend the breeder we got Noah, our (standard size) Aussie from. She's in Central Florida. Let me know if you want her contact info.

  • thank you sooo much for that info in the description box!! i have a full sized aussie (about 90 lbs though, i spoil her a lot...) and am getting a mini. I am hoping that they get along well like yours do! My big pup gets so bored during the day.. Do yours play together? I've only had my dogs around friends' labs and they don't mind each other until they go to my doggie's food bowl! how's did they big one interact with other dogs? how did you introduce them to each other? thanks so much again!!

  • A 90lb Aussie?!?! WOW. Be careful, that is not healthy. When Noah got to 69lbs, the vet made us put him on a diet (only 2 cups of food a day... plus we switched over to Wellness brand dog food, which is a high-end healthy food). Please do it for your dog's health.

Noah is now around 10-12 pounds.

  • I meant Frasier is around 10-12 pounds now.

  • jeeze thank you!! you have no idea how much this helps. my dog is on a plan set out by her vet also. Plus, she gets to go to doggie camp every summer and they run her down (she loooves it). Have fun with your pups, they're beautiful!!

  • As for getting along, these dogs are inseparable. They love each other and you can tell. They took to each other immediately. Of course there is all the initial sniffing each other all over. Our large dog knows exactly the limit he can use his strength or teeth when playing. The small one loves to pick on the big one so he can play with him. The small one will cry if the big one leaves his sight. He needs to be next to the big one all the time. His big brother. They share food no prob.

  • aww, he looks like my new little girl...both her parents aver over 14 in but she and two of her brothers were just so tiny! I don't think she's going to be a mini at all...

  • what an adorable dog(:

i havee one too, they are suchh amazingg and smart dogs.

  • lawl

you know a toy aussie is just a mix of the australian shepherd and the shetland sheepdog? thats why their ears stand up higher

  • ok, WHERE did you get your Aussie?? I got my Toy Aussie (Ennis, a red tri) from a breeder in Spokane, WA, and he was born on February 24, 2008. Maybe my date is wrong...? I dunno, but your Aussie has the SAME FACIAL expressions as my pup! He is also very thin -- more so than he should be, I think -- and his ears aren't folded like most Aussies'. ARE OUR DOGS BROTHERS??

  • Our Toy Aussie was born in the UK. He was a gift from a friend, who was selling her pet store and wanted to give him a good home. Frasier is thin with long legs and not too bright...LOL.

  • Gotcha. They do look similar. My Aussie is a little TOO smart for his own good.

Either way, Frasier is adorable!! They're amazing dogs!

  • OMG. There is NO SUCH THING as a toy Aussie. Breeding them to be less then 7 pounds and so short? Disgusting. Horrible. Giving the true Aussie a bad name. All you little Paris Hiltons out there who just need a dog to carry in your purse might want one of these, but not the people who will stay true to the REAL Aussie and NEVER support these little mixes. They are NOT varieties of the Aussie and it should STAY that way. Ugh.

  • Lighten up Kristen. You can't say there is "no such thing" when you are looking at a video of one. You would be correct in saying that the AKC does not recognize the breed, but there are many breeds that the AKC does not recognize. Try going to a rare breed dog show. Also, you are in the minority saying our Toy Aussie (or any Toy Aussie) is disgusting & horrible. Most people love him. I don't own a purse nor carry him around like a cup of coffee. We adopted our Toy so our Aussie has a pal.

  • I havent signed on to youtube in like forever but after reading your posts Kristen, it made me a little angry. Why the hell are you going to go on someone's video of their beloved animal and completely bash and bitch about it. It is an animal and it is such thing as a toy aussie and a mini one. I have the standard size but I am looking into getting a toy and not to put it in a purse. Please stop harrassing others and saying another person's animal is sick and disgusting. Thanks!

  • Toy Aussies are 100% Australian Shepherds. Maybe you should do your research. Just like Toy Poodles are 100% Poodles. It's actually quite easy to understand when you get down off your "true breed" high horse: Mating smaller dogs with other smaller dogs makes - say it with me now! - more small dogs! You do this enough, you know what you get? TOYS! It's called selective breeding, and that is how every single breed on earth came to be. They are not hybrids, but full Aussies with Aussie traits.

  • So, if two people of genetically short stature had children who were also genetically of short stature, and then that short, small person had children with another short person...

then three generations later they would no longer be humans?

    weird.

  • Toy Australian Shepherds like Frasier arent bred to fit in a purse. In reality they are meant to herd mini/toy sheep.

  • so do you work him on mini sheep? I've never even seen a farmer that keeps mini sheep, what do they look like?

  • i have a toy aussie too, but mine's a black tri and he's 10 weeks. They're so smart! Yours looks just like his mama. too cute!

  • Aw adorable. My Mini's a red tri too, but she's a lot beefier xD

  • SOOOOO cute! I have a mini aussie... how much does a toy version go for? (for pet not stud) and who breeds them?

  • totally cute

  • I`m not a dog person, but he`s lovely!

  • Thanks =)
