If anyone has any doubt which is better, watch Vegeta turn super saiyan for the first time in Kai and Z, Which version makes you feel like your watching something amazing happen? OK kai has enhanced color and animation, but Z is more effective in every other way. Am I the only one that enjoyed the Garlic Jr. Saga?
Few pluses I liked about it was some of the changes to the voices and no garlic jr. saga. But it's ok, you can take or leave it, but always love the original.
In my opinion the original dbz music is way better than kai's. I mean the characters had theme songs. There was so much more passion and effort put in the original soundtracks. Am I the only person that feels this way.

It was by far my favourite show as a kid, but than i quickly realized that it was dbz kai.... and i gotta say... i feel sorry for the kids that are stuck watching this version. DBZ classic kicks its ass. it's ridiculous with the editing and script changes, and even the voices uggg. kids... go watch the classic.
DBK is sometimes better than DBZ because of the music and enhanced detail. some of the music from DBKAI is better than the music from the original DBZ. Yushi no Gaisen by Kenji Yamamoto is a good example of a song that is better. check out the DBK soundtrack, or watch the show to see what i mean.

No. Just... no. The filler was there to add pacing. That is how stories are told, main events don't just happen in sequence. Shit happens in the middle.
Also, I was a kid when the original was either being made/broadcasted. The violence shouldn't be a problem.
@heatran1919 Right, like the filler about Goku getting his drivers license was really adding to the stories pace -_- Filler adds plot holes and makes the characters look weak, like SSJ2 Goku struggling to break a wall, and an attack from both SSJ2 Goku and Vegeta only created a nuclear explosion. And don't forget the filler of Vegeta, Raditz, and Nappa talking about Freiza destroying planet Vegeta which created a huge inconsistency in the Namek story.
Goku's Dilemna was one of the best episodes. hilarious stuff there.
a lot of filler episodes were awesome, especially the one where Bulma, Gohan, and Krillin go to that random spaceship... and bulma is in her panties the WHOLE time lol

DBZ is definitely one of the main series that influenced me as an anime fan. However, while I still like the older series, I prefer DBZ Kai much more.

Oh come on, why are people so stupid about Kai? It's only edited horribly on the networks it's on, but the uncut version is much better. I liked the original DBZ, but I don't like the fact that the fights were stretched out for way too long. I like that DBZ Kai made the action more fast paced.

Toei's filler were actually good and had more rewatchablility. Dragonball doesn't just start from the Saiyan Saga and nor it ends with the Cell Saga, so it doesn't follow the manga. It't like playing a game from the middle. And the Buu saga was awesome. Just because you don't like it, don't make it sound like it is fact...

What makes Kai better i that there are no filler, animation is better, funi get rid of all of the retarded DBZ lines, finally characters swear (not like in manga but they swear), acting is a lot better then in original series (stand's for English dub, Japanese dub was better in dbz), there are more actors on the show... Only downside of the show is that they censure some scenes (that stand's for uncut version of kai, cut version is shit), there's no Boo saga...
