Actually, that's a colour that we in Canada experimented with for our emergancy vehicles, I guess the U.S. just started the idea. It's supposed to be easier to see them on darker streets. But, yeah. The colour was actually considered better for the job but it was so bad we (Canadians) demanded to change it immediatly.

Toys Like Ratchet, Ironhide, Starscream or Blackout (Or my Thundercracker repaint, ooohh, lol) are all Voyager figures.

Figures like Barricade, Bumblebee or Jazz (Or my g1 repaint Jazz or Arcee, ooohh, lol) are all Duluxe.

Optimus Prime, Megatron (Or the new Brawl figure, ooohhh...no, haven't got it, lol) are Leader class.

You also have the Tiny Legends, Which I think are cute, lol.

Hey Sliverbolt I am doing Transformers reviews I did Ratchet as well and the colour of Autobot Ratchet in the movie is because of the U.S colour of medicial vechine.

Blackout is so cool and he looks evil in robot mode.

The reason is that vile green color is because that is the real colors for emergency vehicles in USA, i guess Micheal Bay was trying to make it as real as he can but again is bayformers..... ubt if you get your hands on the recolor is very similar to the colors of the G1 Ratchet other than i really like this toy!!!!!

Silverbolt another great review and i wanted to tell you that id had a problem with my black out and wanted to warn you about it its the automorpph gimmick, if the cog asembly is put in the wrong position it will make the alt mode look funny and youll have to go in and fix it keep up the great work

I gotta agree with you on the color of Ratchet. I like the fact they kept him as a rescue vehicle (Unlike Bumblebee, who is now a Camaro instead of a Beetle -.- ), but I would have liked to have seen him as an ambulence. And what the hell is up with his color? Strangely enough he looks alright as a vehicle, even in that color, but when he's transformed he looks completely disgusting.

Ratchet, Blackout, Starscream, and Ironhide are Voyager figures, not deluxe. Jazz is the Deluxe class. He looks spectacular in car mode, and his robot mode is cool too, except for the arms...you will see what I mean once you get him

Good review as always and I'm glad you're keeping an open mind regarding the movie. I know many who'll boycott it because it's not more based on the original cartoon. I should refer them to an earlier review of yours concerning this issue with G1ers.

I agree that Ratchet's color (oh my God! you talked about colors again!) is simply butt ugly. But knowing Hasbro they'll release Ratchet again with another color that is more agreable (I hope).

As I'm sure you know by now, Blackout's "heel" unfolds from the back of the foot. I noticed it wasn't transformed in the video.

Ratchet is actually my fave of the movie line. The green color is VERY common with emergency vehicles in the U.S. because of its visibility, so that doesn't bother me in the least. What I like most about this guy is that he's so damn solid in both vehicle and robot mode. Also, the transformation is VERY quick and easy and yields such amazing results.

Btw Blackout is based on the Sikorsky MH-53M PAVE LOW IV, however the tail rotor section is done wrong on the toy (compare it to Blackout in the movie). The colourscheme is spot on and is infact used on real MH-53J/M.

And Brawl - watch out, this piece never saw quality control, it's very breakable.

I actually like the green. because it reminds me of the glorph mechs on megas xlr and it's good to have another green autobot for my shelf besides cybertron downshift. decepticons have gotten alot of green lately.

listen jazz is great. probably one of the better first wave basic figures. I'd also recommend barricade. jazz/Barricade for sure brawl while fun has probalamatic shoulders.

I already have Blackout, but Ratchet's colour makes me wanna get Ironhide instead. I like Bumblebee and Starscream; Starscream simply cause the plane looks great, and Bumblebee because IMHO it has the best transformation. Then there's leader class Prime, which is just exceptional.

I really would recommend Screamer. Yeah he doesn't quite look the part, but he really is an awesome figure. Easily my favorite voyager from the movie line. His alt mode, awesome (albeit a bit bulky in the undercarriage), and his head shows. His bot mode, if you can get past the gorrila-chicken look (though I love his chicken legs, they actually add a bit to the figure) he is really a ton of fun.

No argument there about Starscream. He's not proportioned nearly as well as the old guys were, what with those spindly thin little legs holding up that huge frame. But then, for the most part I just leave him in plane form.

Have since picked up Brawl (after having seen the movie twice today!), Brawl ain't bad but my fav after leader Prime is still deluxe Bumblebee. After my next pay I'll likely add voyager Ratchet and Ironhide to the collection.

Yeah In the states and many airports use that colour. I think his "claw" is supposed to be the "jaws of life" pneumatic cutting tool. Blackout is cool, but I've got issues with him. I agree about Ult. Bumblebee, and I'd like to see an Ult. Jazz as well.

Well, in the States, there are Fire Department Emergency vehicles in that greenish-yellow color. I rather like it after a while of having mine. If you've seen the white version that may come out, he looks like a fat nurse.
