There are I think 4 different suits Batman has

The first one is the standard.

The second one shown when they shot batman and he stood still. I think thats a Steel-Plated Force-fielded Batman suit (prototype).

The third shown is flight ability.

The fourth is a masked one, gives Batman a mask for oxygen and explosives.

I watched Gotham Knight twice, the second time with commentary. The writers and animators did and awesome job with this! XD Field Test was my absolute fave because it looked a lot like the anime we recognize today. BATMAN FOREVER!!!

The reason why the batmans appear different is due to the individuals who see him. Their perspectives during the trauma cause batman to appear quite different.
