Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Those were the days huh??

Remember to keep your baffles cleared.... Ha Ha.

    Regards.

  • Nicely done!

    Former FTB

  • Thank you for the memories. I really enjoyed your presentation. I reported aboard the Tea Cup on December 23, 1964. She was tied up to the portside of the Proteus AS-19 in Guam. I also served on the Daniel Boone SSBN629 and the Franklin SSBN640. Discharged July 1970 TM2 (SS).

  • I had the pleasure of serving on the Will Rogers(SSBN 659) 1991-1993. Though my time there was not long, I definately enjoyed the time spent in Holy Loch and being the last boat to leave there. I stayed on board long enough to ride her around to the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for decom in 1993 and was part of the final crew release. Your video did bring back alot of memories it gives me goosebumps and makes me smile to see alot of things from pictures. Excellent video. Keep up the great work.

  • Glad you enjoyed it. Sounds like you had a good time. I sure did.

Thanks for dropping by fellow Bubblehead.

  • Thanks for all of the great memories... I guess I was just ahead of you - Arrived at Diego for Boot in Nov '73. Graduated from Sub School in April '74 - Made 5 patrols out of Rota on the George C. Marshall SSBN 654 (G)

Transferred to Diego to a Diesel Boat Sailfish SS 572 - A WESPC on the USS Haddo SSN 604 and ended up taking the Spadefish SSN 668 to the Newport News Ship Yards - I mustered out in April '78 as a TM 2 (SS) - I thank God for the experience...

  • Sounds like you have 'em all covered, SS, SSN and SSBN. Take 'er easy, and Thanks for dropping by.....

  • My older brother's first SSBN was the "Valley Joe" 658. He was out of Charleston SC for a while. Then he went to Kings Bay until 2004 when he retired. As far as I know he was a weapons control from 1983-2004. He did not tell me to much of what he did. I did not ask.

  • I made 6 patrols on the teacup and was on the Blue crew from 1973-1976. I was a nuke and I was very interested to see these pix. They brought back fond and some not so fond memories. I retired in 1993 as a Master Chief.

  • Wow, I must have served w/ you, but I don't recognize your handwriting...ha ha...

Thanks for dropping by. I visited last weekend w/ a Sonar Chief I served w/ on the Tcup, I hadn't seen him in over 30 years. Had a great time.

  • So, Chief, what's your name? I was a nuke blue crew 74-75, Ken Strong ET.

  • I was an EM2 from 73-76 on blue crew. Richard Price. I did 6 patrols then went to Great Lakes. I retired in 93 as a master chief.

  • I was on the blue crew from 1979 to 1982 and did 4 patrols including the 50th for T-Cup. I was an SK2 when I left and retired SKC(SW/SS) after 20 years. Submariners are the best of the best! I really enjoyed the video. Wow, brings back alot of memories. I am glad you took so many pics, otherwise we would only have our fuzzy memories, pics are better. Thanks shipmate!

  • It's always nice to hear from a fellow Submariner. Especially one from the Tcup. Thanks for dropping by.

  • miss the boats and chas s.c, the fish and fries in holyloch/dunoon and the crews i sailed with

  • Me too. What great memories. I sure would like to have some of those fish and chips about now.

I try NOT to remember the Field days, Midwatches, Working Parties and Drills.

  • I second that !!!

  • Good vid!! I spent 6 years as a C-4 Missile Tech on the Simon Bolivar. Did a missile shot DASO and 6 patrols. Included in the patrols was a 4 missile ripple OT shot. Also spent time in Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. BTW, the C-3 carried more than 6 warheads. IIRC the usual payload was 10 rentry bodies. And the 48 and 37 torpedoes were not nuclear armed. Those quals get fuzzy after 20 plus years. LOL!!

  • Thanks for dropping by fellow BubbleHead. Your right, it was the Mk 45 torpedo that had a nuclear Warhead. We carried two of them for my first few patrols. Your also right, things can get a little fuzzy after 30 years, but yet some things seem like yesterday.
