Torri might have jumped but she was in the top half after 10 meters. Her start was not bad, her acceleration was ok and she decelerated more than anyone else on the race, BUT HER START WAS NOT BAD!!!!!

i don't understand how these girl's time go up and down olypic us trials ...lee 10.85,williams 10.90,edwards 10.78 but at the olympics they clock in at 11.05,11.07,and 11.20 i wonder if they knew jamaica would be coming to the olympics strong and got nervous about the competition.
winds plays a major factor.. they had some major plus winds which will push you to go faster . while at US trials the had + 1.8 but at beijing it was only a still wind.. which just makes shellyann frasers win so much more spectacular. 10.78 in still wind. Usain bolt broke the world record in negative wind.
The Jamaican girls except for SAF did the same. Kerron ran 10.80 and Sherone 10.85. It is not as obvious for KS and SS because they medalled. But KS was +0.18 and SS +0.13. Only SAF, Kwakye and McKenzie ran as well as they did at their national championships.

Lauryn williams still runs off of talent I believe. She's just as talented as Campbell or Simpson or Fraser, but she needs to learn how to be consistent. And Jamaica's not outrightly the best, but they do have a lot of great sprinters. But as doped as she was, Marion Jones was still faster, and the IAAF kept her 10.65 in the books. So American woman are still the fastest

Lauryn needs to learn how to be more consistent. I can actually see her being a consistent 10.7, 10.8 sprinter if she can learn how it feels to run that fast. Her mind is there, but I don't know if her body is there yet.

What's Carol Lewis talking about? 11.23 wouldn't have been close to beating Fraser in Beijing. Shelly Ann had a bad start and couldn't recover.
