So this was a deleted scene? That's weird, they showed it in that clip show that they aired a little while back, I kinda thought that it didn't look familiar. But it is cool they included it, nonetheless, and it does kinda make sense seeing as how, unlike most shows, the writers of The Office actually do consider the deleted scenes as being canon.

They found out Ed got decapitated in a car accident in season 3 episode 4 "Grief Counseling" and this is a deleted scene from "Traveling Salesman/ The Return" so what was going on with Dwight was he had quit and was out looking for another job.
