Hmm well you got me to bite! I'll try it out soon. I live in a house that looks and sounds just like the mansion (just not anywhere as large lol) in the first Resident Evil so that really got to me whenever footsteps out side my door would thump about or when a squeaky door would open and close while playing it haha.
That's awesome that you live in a house like that, lol. I can just picture it. If I lived there I'd probably jump at every little noise (and leave all the lights on all the time, lol). :D
Looks cool, Holly. I played a somewhat obscure game with a similar meter. Remember the movie "The Thing"? It was a PS2 game. I actually thought it was quite good for the "jumpy" factor as well as overall gameplay. The meter kept track of your team's "mental health" because if they started going bats, it could be that they were about to change into a monster. It could be a good idea ot kill them, but if you were wrong, they'd get pissed and try to kill you.
And if you notice, I have two 333's in my username. (half and half) >:-D
I remember "The Thing" for PS2! I watched my ex-husband play that game (and he freaked out, to my great satisfaction). That was REALLY scary! I think there was a point when he had to go back out into the snow, and I just couldn't take the suspense anymore.
I'd forgotten about the 'sanity meter' in that game! I might get brave and see if I can find a copy and play through it. :D
It's a pretty long game and if I had any complaints it would just be that there wasn't enough variety in setting for such a long one. Really, what can you do when the entire game was situated in Antarctica? That was the nice thing about Tomb Raider. Lara was all over the world, so you didn't get burnt out on the setting. Well, that and that she was hot and viscous!
Eternal Darkness was actually a pretty short game, and they re-used the same (few) environments in different chapters. It was what they did with those levels that keeps the replay value of that game so high for me.
I still own all my Tomb Raiders. :P The first three are my favorites, and they definitely have some "jump" moments! I do get tired of looking at her butt all the time though. :D
...and her CHEST! God, I can't believe she doesn't tip over.

I agree! The graphics now are just amazing. I have to admit I still adore my 8-bit Nintendo though. It's hooked up to my little TV right now. :P

Cool! I love spooky stuff like that. I don't get along too well with console games, I'm more of a PC game/keyboard and mouse kinda guy!
Doom3 in the dark! Yeah That's the ticket!

I am terrible at most "survival horror" games. I get too panicky! I love watching my friends play scary games though. :P
You couldn't pay me to try Doom 3 in the dark! :D
