these are the moments that made this game a masterpiece in my opinion. gameplay is amazing, and all that, but this atmosphere, especially during the scarecrow sequences, that makes it truly special.

@bialy77live you can't it's all part of the joke. That specific part with the gun to the head and then the screen saying you lost, do you want to retry or quit, use () to dodge the bullet.
That entire part is a spoof of CoD 4. You can't actually dodge it though :P
I have the PC version and it crashes at the same exact point, I dunno WTF was going on. Anyone get this sent to Eidos? They need to redo another patch for this fix.

The first time this happened to me, I was on top of the gargoyle statue right above where batman is walking in this video, so he didn't cough. You can only guess that I restarted, then when the game did it again, I shut it off and looked up "Arkham Asylum joker glitch" online. I was happy to see that it WAS a scripted event. Damn. I mean, I just got my 5850. Don't fucking do that to me, Eidos! Lol!
And I went to skip the cutscene thinking it just reset the game and at the bottom it said "Skip (Purple J Button)" instead of the normal "Skip (Red B Button)"
It was funny how when Joker shoots you it says to use the middle stick to dodge it. There is no middle stick or J button.
I immediately switched TV sets after that "fake crash", since I thought playing on hi-res via HDMI was putting too much strain on the console. So I played the rest of the game on a lousy old Toshiba TV set. LOL.
This had me looking for my game receipt....lucky I saw this post. It's game gimmickery brilliance though...but should come with a warning sticker..FAKE CRASH IN GAME..Do not return to store.

I thought my 360 messed up too and I was like, "No! And it was just getting good!" By the way, it's pretty creepy seeing Batman screaming out and asking for someone to help him.
Superman is the invincible one. Bats is human and doesn't have any powers, just gadgets. BTW, this is because of one of Batman's enemies, Scarecrow. I'm guessing the coughing is because Scarecrow's fear toxin is taking over batman for the third time in the game. That toxin is what caused the "crash." The first two times the toxin was used to scare batman, but the third time it was used to scare the player. Found out about it before I played and was disappointed.
Fucking developers, good thing I cecked to see if anyone else had the "problem" after "So did anyone catch the game last night?" I was about ready to go exchange my Arkham Asylum disc. I mean, I've been terrified by Necromorphs, Startled by Big Daddies and Splicers, and even Been attacked by a psychic little demon girl who can melt people's skin with her mind. But nothing has ever scared me more than thinking my few month old 360 was fucked up.

lol, when that happen to my ps3, i restarted ps3 three times and cleaning the disc once... then i google the reasons why that happen... lol that was a part of game =)

The first time this happened to me, I was on top of the gargoyle statue right above where batman is walking in this video, so he didn't cough. You can only guess that I restarted, then when the game did it again, I shut it off and looked up "Arkham Asylum joker glitch" online. I was happy to see that it WAS a scripted event. Damn. I mean, I just got my 5850. Don't fucking do that to me, Eidos! Lol!

When this happened to me I was like uh... wtf??
And I went to skip the cutscene thinking it just reset the game and at the bottom it said "Skip (Purple J Button)" instead of the normal "Skip (Red B Button)"
It was funny how when Joker shoots you it says to use the middle stick to dodge it. There is no middle stick or J button.

I immediately switched TV sets after that "fake crash", since I thought playing on hi-res via HDMI was putting too much strain on the console. So I played the rest of the game on a lousy old Toshiba TV set. LOL.

Superman is the invincible one. Bats is human and doesn't have any powers, just gadgets. BTW, this is because of one of Batman's enemies, Scarecrow. I'm guessing the coughing is because Scarecrow's fear toxin is taking over batman for the third time in the game. That toxin is what caused the "crash." The first two times the toxin was used to scare batman, but the third time it was used to scare the player. Found out about it before I played and was disappointed.

Fucking developers, good thing I cecked to see if anyone else had the "problem" after "So did anyone catch the game last night?" I was about ready to go exchange my Arkham Asylum disc. I mean, I've been terrified by Necromorphs, Startled by Big Daddies and Splicers, and even Been attacked by a psychic little demon girl who can melt people's skin with her mind. But nothing has ever scared me more than thinking my few month old 360 was fucked up.
