@northwestube Its a home grown bird. It has been exported to 8 countries or so including Israel, Ecuador, Mauritius, Myanmar etc. I think about 50 weaponized versions are about to be inducted in Indo-Pak border.

@REXXBAILEY the most recent evaluation of tejas done by the armed forces in multirole& strike capacity found that the flying characteristics are better than mirage-2000. if you dont believe me check the utubekhiladi's video on tejas and its development. and just to clear your head. the concept for tejas existed since 28 years but the work started 18 years ago. this is stated by HAL chairman ashok baweja. and keep in mind this is our first aircraft project.

I believe HAL will itself release video soon after that.
