Am I the only one who prefers Steph? :) I think she has a great personality in this, she knows how to put her soul into it and act really well, I found her fun and entertaining to watch, it makes me want to just get up and go wtih them dance on the stage :P

This performance was brilliant, subtle, honest and both of them sung it beautifully! Danielle and Lauren are beautiful singers too, however I found their performance painful and forced - awful mellodrama, it was like watching Mean Girls: The Musical or something, and certainly not in a good way. I don't think 'Popular' suited them. But concerning voices, all four of them are beyond amazing, and utterly stunning performers on their own.

i agree the other performance was better, but i think this group didn't have as good as good a song as a duet. danielle and lauren actually had a sort of story that involved both of them, this song didn't have as much potential to do that.

@VonniiKP You could also argue the reverse - as Danielle and Lauren's song is recent the original performances are still fresh in the public's mind and therefore there is an awful lot of expectation on the girls to deliver the song as well as Kristin Chenoweth. Steph and Sophie had the opportunity to perform the hell out of this song and neither rose to the challenge all that well - something which the judges pointed out to them.

@VonniiKP True. I agree with you that Steph was much better than Sophie. I can see Steph doing very well in a comedy like Avenue Q (I would love to see her perform as Kate Monster!) or Mamma Mia. Sophie, although clearly a talented singer, always left me wanting much more from her performances.

To be honest I find it hard to choose between everyone because when it comes down to it they're all pretty similar. There voices are loud. They all act in the same comical and fun or sad and pure way. And they are all beautiful. They could all be Dorothy.

Sophie is fab :D I thought she was by far the best vocally AND best actress. She was actually beleivable and natural where as some of the girls are fake. Steph was good but Sophie stole the performence even when she wasent singing! I really felt she wasentbeing credited enough but I like her :)

I agreed with Sheila when she said that the other number, Popular, was a bit easier to perform and make humorous, but I think this wasn't quite as good as it could have been. I didn't feel like I entirely believed them, whereas I did Danielle and Lauren. That might just be because Danielle and Lauren were my two favourites though!

Steph built up her emotions throught what can only be described as a very dull song. On the other hand, Sophie seemed the same all the way through. She just seems very 2D and I could only her imagine her playing the same characters. She seems to win on the heartfelt sad songs but no where else.

IT really annoys me how the Judges including AL-W are all ment to show emotions as there job, well cept CC cuz she's a singer, yet when they watch performances, they don't show a single emotion, i would be really pissed if someone didn't smile at my performace

You shouldn't give anything away when judging something like this, because primarily this is an audition. If you go anywhere for auditions, generally the panel of people auditioning you will stay blanked face with no expression, it's the professional thing to do. Although actually, saying that, ALW and John were really getting into Danielles 'Mambo Italiano' the other week. =]

Seriously, who gives these songs. Sophie and Steph tried their hardest to colour and modernise this dated, annoying song from such an old musical, and although they sang it well and acted it well it will always be bland, whoever does it. Even if the 'comedy duo' [oh please] were to perform this they would have a hard time. I'm just suggesting to give Sophie and Steph better songs. Sophie to win though :)
