peopl claim that liberterians are closer to the right then the left, thats not true. the democratic party now is more closer to liberterians than the conservative right on social and civil liberty issues
Dr. Ron Paul is a hero... Don't let anyone tell you you're not a patriot because you don't support an unconstitutional war... I feel sorry for people like Sean H for holding onto failed policy...
We need drug laws the same as we need drink-driving laws. Some libertarians, might say that's infringing on the rights of an individual. But other people are involved in this situation. Same with drugs. Drugtaking doesn't affect only the individual, it affects family members, coworkers, customers ... potentially anyone the individual comes into contact with. And the economy. That's why laws were made - to protect society.
"Read the Constitution once in a while". Most of the politicians are traitors to the Constitution and now nobody obeys it anymore. It's a worthless piece of paper. So I don't understand why Paul advocates going back to something that hasn't been shown to work. The Constitution has been overturned and yet there's been no revolution. What makes him think the same won't happen again if the Constitution is restored?
Reality: There is no grand scheme to keep Dr. Paul out of the nomination process. He simply does not have the following needed to be a "top tier" candidate -- no matter how much money he has. Try again in 2012. Perhaps America will have grown tired of Hillary by then.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Don't you Ron Paul suppoters get it? Hillary is going to be the next president. The people don't elect the president. Delegates do. Hillary has already paid for enough delegates to guarantee a win. Don'y worry. She'll take care of you. Clinton 2008!
If drugtaking is legalized, you watch - America will become like Opium-Den China. America is already half-way there anyway.
How appropriate. Just as the once-great Chinese Empire fell brought down by the epidemic of opium-addiction, the American Empire will also fall down in the same way, drowned in a sea of drug-addiction.
Sign of the times. Empires all collapse the same way.
No matter how hard you may try, or how noble your intent may be... you can NEVER legislate virtue. Look around you... restrictions are tighter than they have ever been in history and the problem of immorality is more prevelant than ever. Your government solution has done nothing but perpetuate the problem. For example, how can a worker that creates wealth be drug-tested and a welfare recipient is not? It's ridiculous.
Funny, legislation works in Malaysia. After several Australian drug mules were executed there, no drug smuggling there. Same with China. How did they get rid of the opium problem? If you get caught drug dealing they shoot you dead and bill your family the cost of the bullet. The Chinese learned the hard way. The misnamed War on Drugs hasn't worked because the drug laws aren't strict enough. Compared to China, the US is a LIBERAL country. Paul is whacked.
Rubbish. Most people have better things to do than get high all day. Look at the Netherlands and Belgium. All the junkies are from some where else. People tend to party until around 30 and then find other interests. We don't have to guess at the result of legalization just like it's no guess that prohibition puts drugs and drug profits in the hands of gangsters. get rid of the rebel glamor, stop lumping all drugs into one category and drug use goes down.
Quick recap: You can't legislate virtue. If you criminalize the drug industry you DISCOURAGE discourse on the subject because "it's taken care of". If you de-criminalize it, it is in the public discourse of day-to-day concerns, like the price of your energy bill.
And no drugs are not a MEDICAL problem, they are a MORAL problem.
How come I who will never take drugs, will never have a MEDICAL problem of drug addiction? But some others will have this problem? C. H. O. I. C. E.
Let's face it, those who succumb to drugs are weak, and once they start, they will never be functioning humans again but cause problems for others as long as they live.
The rest of us need to be separated from these Zombies.
If you are the opposite of pro-life you are ANTI-life. If you are for legalization of murder and rape, does that make you pro-CHOICE?
These are the two issues I have with Paul: abortion and drugs.
He needs to make laws relating to them enforceable by FEDERAL laws.
Abortion because it's MURDER.
And drugs because they affect other people, not just the druggie. They affect the CHILDREN who are abused by druggies, and the people killed in accidents caused out by the drugged-out driver.
I understand that you believe that abortion is murder. I do not disagree with your position. I would, however, suggest that you look in the Constitution. The Federal government is not empowered to punish people for murder or other crimes of violence. That enforcement is left to the "several states", as it should be. The only crimes that the Constitution empowers the Federal government to enforce are 1)Counterfeiting 2)Treason 3)Piracy
I believe in the Untied States that was taught to me in school, It is long gone overrun with corruption and SPP elitists.
I am prochoice. Ron Paul is prolife. It won't matter what I believe if one of these other despots is elected cause we'll be at war with Iran and Russia.
I put two Ron Paul signs in my yard. I'm handing out fliers. I have contributed to his campaign.
Join us in taking back America before it is too late.
Hey people! Idea: Halloween is Coming. Give candy to the kids but Ron Paul fliers to the parents. Make them yourself. Write about all the issues and his congressional record. There's no better time to be able to get face time with your neighbors. They are coming to you, don't let this oppotunity pass you by.
Ron Paul is the greatest person ever since Thomas Jefferson!!! who speaks ONLY the truth. Isn't the Constitution improtant to American people??? But fuck seem like no one gives a shit about the Constitution and liberty anymore. it's sad to see how people failed to see that RON PAUL is the only hope to better America...they've been brainwashed, I'm telling you!
Dennis Kucinich might as well be a member since he is taking a position on attacking gun rights. I lost ALL respect for the man after that crap starting coming out.
Dennis Kucinich is into killing of unborn babies, is anti-2nd amendment, and has accepted donations from AIPAC. I used to like him but not anymore. Ron Paul is the best.
On the Democrat side, I like Gravel best but he doesn't have a hope. The fool Democrats like warmonger Hillary or Obama who said he would bomb Pakistan and is totally an AIPAC candidate.

Foolish: the unwillingness or inability to accept reality.
Reality: Guliani 28% Thompson 18% McCain 13% Romney 12% Huckabee 5%
Reality: There is no grand scheme to keep Dr. Paul out of the nomination process. He simply does not have the following needed to be a "top tier" candidate -- no matter how much money he has. Try again in 2012. Perhaps America will have grown tired of Hillary by then.

this is also why Ron Paul has changed his position on capitol punishment at the federal level. He now opposes it.
