This is 100% stooging... It can be done without stooging but he's not that good. He's gotta do a lot more.

Except for the stuff about their early lives, and possibly the 'magic word', stooging isn't required for this effect.

It's actually an inhumanly clever routine, and it's especially rewarding to watch when you know the methods he's using.
