Eric's version was hip-hop crap that didn't belong in this film. They had to get another guy to score this part. The only time in the film you ever get the bond theme.
Oh, and for those of you who were wondering about the name of this particular Bond theme song variation, I believe it was entitled "A Pleasant Drive In St. Petersburg"
Though I prefer the older movies to the newer ones, I still love this scene. He was just like "Subtlety has gone to hell. I tried to get out of this using words, but the interrogator was killed. The Russians are trying to kill me, that bastard traitor is getting away with my only nearby good-looking friend, and there's aa a tank yard down there. Fuck it, let's just go for it."
i agree, this where music and action come together and produce on of the best action sequences ever, they make this video longer until the part where the statue is on top of the tank as well
Mr Bond in his little tank. I've got a question for Mister Bond. Of all the women that his has met over the years, how come he's never said 'I love you' to any of them or ever said 'I love her'? Why is that? Cool scene.
I disagree, as ludicrous as it may seem, the scene is well built up and explained, its relevancy is more reliable, though the new movie does look excellent.
See, this is the problem I had with the Brosnan films. They were way too over the top. A tank crushing everything in it's path? Puleeese....Save that crap for Ah-nold.
I like the look of the new Bond movie. More serious and down to earth.
jackass, he wants to know what version they used, the one from Dr. No is different. he wants the version they used in THIS movie, it is called GOLDENEYE, not Dr. No.
This scene is good...but it does not compare to the opening scene...where he rides off the side of the cliff on a motorcycle..FREEFALLS towards the plane and escapes?! Now, THAT is in incredible! From seeing that first Pierce Brosnan installment, I was convinced he was made for the role. I also think Daniel Craig is going to be good too..
Timothy Dalton should have done Goldeneye, as intended! (nothing against pierce)

Pierce Brosnan was probably my favorite as it was the Bond I grew up watching.
Roger Moore is my second favorite.

2 things wrong about this and the previos scene, that tank takes 30 min to start up, and the tank will break the road instead of scraping it
BUT THIS IS STILL AWESOM!!!

Actually, that's Eric Serra's rendition, which did not make it into the film. This is entitled something like "Bond in St. Petersburg."

This is when the series went down hill. They were all great up to Licence to Kill. Brosnans scripts were terrible and boring.

The Tank is an upgraded T-55 with explosive reactive armour. It has a 100mm gun not a 125mm gun ala the T-80/90.
johnson01 5 years ago
No, it's a T-55 which ERA armour to make it look modern.
