@devil55122 No, Natural Selection 2 runs completely on it's own engine. You don't need a source-engine game [ie: HL2] to run. It's not a mod any more, it's a full game.

they did, this is/was the prototype of their own engine which supported bsp rendering.

Im not even sure if its still supported, they use occlusion culling / real time rendering now.

Wrong, because this video is old and runs on source engine, new one uses it's own engine and is made by it's own company. It's in pre-alpha, where you can make levels for it but not play them or anything, it's gonna cost 29 or 39 US$ depending on what type of it u buy.

technically its not really all that modern.. It doesnt have unified lighting like Unreal engine 3 or Doom 3 (id tech 4) Crysis, etc.. Not to say that it sucks but its definitely not cutting edge anymore.

No, Natural Selection 2 does not even use anything source related. They have created there own engine. And from what I have seen, selling this for around the price of 20$ when it does come for that time for it to be released. NS 2 from what I have seen is no longer a mod, but an actual game in the making.
