  • bn;

  • Best version of the Final Fantasy Prelude

  • As for Kuja I believe he was evil, however at the end his strong negative emotions left him and formed Necron, therefor Kuja was able to understand the truth, and changed his ways in his last hours. However this is just a theory, and my personal opinion, however it does make sense when you think about it.

  • Honestly a lot of final fantasy main characters are used as puppets. Just look at Cloud, he was used by Sephiroth to deliver him the black Matera which allowed Sephiroth to summon meteor. There some other noteworthy characters used as puppets as well, like Saifer and the Queendom of Alexandria (Brenne, Beatrice, etc). Sorry for any names I might have misspelled, I really don't pay that much attention to that sort of thing.

  • I think people thumbed up ChuckNorrisSaurrus's comment cause of his name

  • Wait, i have a question. Is the DS Prelude and the OST Prelude the same? :/

  • I honestly like FFlV's prelude, but I prefer the other version compared to this. (not hating)

  • Best Final Fantasy prelude ever.

  • @oOMawzerOo By far. It's a tragedy the OST had to cut this one short.

  • i have a 48 thumps up comment, but it's not on top

    y? :(((

  • Back when Square made games rather than lousy Otaku fanservice

  • I FINALLLLLLLYLLYLYLYLLYLLYL FOUND IT! took me like FOREVER to find it. :"D THANK YOU FOR UPLOADING THISS! :")

  • 4>10>6>1>9>7>2>5>12>8>13>3>11>14

  • This is the best game of all time IMO. The second is FF7 !

  • 4>6>7>1>3>5>10>8>9>13>12>14>11

  • @futuregamer24 What about 2?

  • i just have loved every ff i have played so far, better story line then most games that come out now day. Though the latest released i have played was XII.

  • IV and VI / II and III were so much better than any of the newer ones. 7 was epic but wasn't enough I guess. IV was hard core, earth, underworld, moon, and hovercraft, 2 airships and a spacecraft. Storylines where even the smaller quests like getting the sandruby had something to do with the story, very personal takes for each character (Cecil, Edward, even the twins etc). VI's industrial revolution era and corruption for power etc, all the diff lands, opera and auction houses, so creative.

  • greats remenbers...

  • Why does this fade out at the best part? The key change in the rhythm section at 1:09 is undoubtedly the coolest bit. We've all heard the arpeggiation at the beginning a billion times >:(

  • @12ealDeal that part still doesn't get old though

  • @piromaniac9999 She dind't bitchslapped him, she punched the mother fucker in da face!! Way more epic!

  • I love this piece of music. :]

  • 6>4>5>9>12>1>3>2>7>11>8>10>14>13. 2 is my favorite though.

  • It just reminds me of this:

Wake up...see the light....your destiny awaits. Look, the adventure is there you can see it REACH for it...through the sorrow, the laughter, the hard times you will overcome

  • Final Fantasy IV > Final Fantasy VII

  • @Boognish187 i liked 4 but 7 was better i liked 5 better than 4 >.>

  • is this the first version that had the softer melody in it in 0:40?

  • @Seirra259 yup

  • WHAT? Is not the complete version of the Prelude!

  • Am i the only one that thinks cain is the real main character?

  • @Settlerplay he has my name so to me he is!

  • so far this is still my favorite final fantasy game.

  • Early fade out much?

  • Golbez disliked this video

  • @smackthedog1 You mean Zemus?

  • It took me about a week to play this game when I got it for PS1. Everytime I turned the game on I would just sit there on the main screen with this music on. Then I would just sit there for ages. Fuck, I'm crying from the memories...

  • I remember i used to watch my uncle play this all the time when i was real young, I still have the game on Super Nintendo to this day ! :D <3

  • @abckrazy LOL same here...used to watch him play this and he'd make up voices for the characters...used to put me and my cousins to sleep.

  • @ghast212 Good times.. good times (:

  • After two decades, I feel this is THE best version of the Prelude ever written. At 0:40 the melody comes in strong but still sounds mellow. Later improvements in instrument sound imitations had the side effect of changing the balance of sound and tone color, and in this case that near-perfect balance was never regained.

But I've only played the first nine games, so maybe I should explore a bit more. But of the games 4 through 7 this is the best rendition.

  • @KarlBonner1982 you're quite right...I felt that the others came in a bit too strongly.. but this one is nice and mellow :)

  • To hear this music again, just one more time.

  • My first final fantasy i ever played and beat and maxed out all characters to level 99.. i feel peace. I feel god. I feel stuff i cant describe in words when i hear this track

  • Man I wish I could be 13 again and play this... :-)

  • My favourite and my first Final Fantasy in the legendary Super NES.

So many memories come to my head when I listen this music.

I can´t describe with words what I´m feeling right now.

  • my preferite ff *-*

  • @Zantetsuken7 incorrect sir.

    he is using a LANCE.

There is a difference. Don't insult the dragoons. ;P

  • @TheNewAtman haha yes thus the title "Lancer" in some games

  • 0:41 to the end is my favorite part of the song =D

  • Thumbs up if you demand a loop :)

  • @Chucknorrisaurrus put endless in front of the word youtube in the URL

    ????

    Profit!

  • @Chucknorrisaurrus why not replace the link from the keyword "tube" to "repeat" that might help out

  • I would like to thank FF1, FF2, FF3, (especially) FF4, & FF5 for making FF6 so amazing and polished.

I think that FF6 wouldn't have been a masterpiece if it didn't have the solid foundation that it had.

  • @dallasdollars7 Thank you someone who finally realizes that the real final fantasy masterpieces were before FF7 :)

I'm not saying FF7 was bad, but the previous games were definately better.

  • Cecil... He was my favorite Final Fantasy character....

And he still is... The new version, the ds version, and Dissidia... He is awesome in all of those.

But one thing remains. This game was best for the good ol' Super Nentindo... I miss em times.

  • @QiosQey I wish I could thumb this comment up a million times.

  • @QiosQey Cecil and Celes tie for my favorite, they both have the widest character arc and show the most diversity and growth as protagonists.

  • Lolz I typed Final Fantasy VI so fast that I ended up with this.

  • there something i don't understand.. cecil is the main character? or its kain on the title O.o

  • @tristram599 That's Cecil as a dark knight.

  • @Clovis4012 Actually he's right, thats Kain. Cecil is the main character, but Kain plays a pretty large central role as well.

Go check it out on wiki

  • @tristram599

The main image is simply supposed to illistrate an aspect of the game. For IV, it was Kain, with V, it's the Dragon, VI it's the magi-tek armour, VII it's the Meteor, VIII it's Squall in Rinoa, IX it's the world crystal and X it's Yuna and Sin. I think it kinda curious that although the crystals have been a major plot device in all of the Final Fantasies, it's taken 9 titles for it to make it to the cover artwork ;D

  • @tristram599 it's like Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader...lol

  • It is sad that last is cut.

  • Best final fantasy, too bad i can't find it anyware

  • @TheQUAKERoatmeal lucky for you, It's on Vcon, as in Virtual console, so if you have a wii, and 800 wii points, you can get it.

  • Nobuo Uematsu claims that the prelude theme took him 5 minutes to write. With that being said, it was also one of Uematsu his easiest work. He didnt think it would be used in so many games after the original Final Fantasy. (this is what Nobuo said himself, not me)

  • *turns on final fantasy IV*

    ok let's go!

    *hears prelude*

arrgh... now i wanna sleep... >.>

  • @harukiigarashi Damn, so f***ing true^^

  • Final Fantasy IV's prelude was the first to introduce the chorus (0:41 onwards)

I'd kill to be back in the 90s with my SNES.

  • Actually, when I play the earlier games I feel disappointed when the bit from 0:40 doesn't come in, love it so much =]

  • Comment removed

  • Let's face it, FF IV had the best Prelude track ever. I could sit here in my chair listening to this for hours. Especially from 0:40 onward.

  • @xtrem3rd This game increased the epicness of FF games.

  • @TheCasjerem THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

ha, FF4 was the best by far in my opinion :)

though the FF13 storyline was good. Made me cry. *tear*

well, this one did too. I hated loosing the twins :(

every time i do I cry

  • FFXIII Is so much better... HAH I'm bad at lying!

FF XIII is complete fail! LONG LIVE THE CLASSICS!!!

  • Ah, the Donkey Kong Country sound channels...

  • I always loved the prelude, especially since the melody debuted in Final Fantasy IV. Thanks for uploading it.

  • Damn it!!! Everyone fights on every single FF related video about which one is better!!! How about everyone gets along!!! I think most of the FF games are amazing. Stop fighting about which one is better and decide that all of the games have strong and weak points. Each is good somehow in its own way. THERE. PROBLEM SOLVED. Awesome video. -thumbs up-

  • @AnimalsRock25 100% agreed. ALL FFs WERE AWESOME, DAMN IT!!!

    ...and they still are.

  • Wow, a bunch retards calling each other fanboys... pathetic how retarded the FF community gets.

Fuck all y'all- when you gimme a title in the series I like better than the ever-hated Final Fantasy 2, then I'll consider taking you seriously. And I mean the real 2- fucked up leveling system, the Emporer, etc. Not one game in the series have I enjoyed more. Not 7, not 10, not 4...none.

  • I love this game too, it's incrible!!!

and the final boos is very dificult, but I defeate it !!!

  • *swearing

  • Final Fantasy 4 is just amazing.

    And just to prove it.

They have re-made it 4 times!

  • i still think cecil kain and rosa are better characters than:cloud barret and cait sith.

There was something about the story and the way it brought out the characters and their struggle against their past.

Cecil's struggle against his past and to become a paladin was something trully epic.

Sonicfanatic,i haven't beaten crisis core yet but i'l have to see what cloud is like in crisis core.

So far seph seems better in character developement than in the original psx and zach seems cool.

  • I agree with anyone who says that FF7 is way to overrated and that FF4 had better characters.

  • I think the one thing that people who sweat FF7 so much forget to mention is that it was probably the first RPG they ever played and enjoyed so its always #1 for them.

  • @FiR3StAlK3R I think IV is the best i played , and I think everyone agrees that VII is the most popular in the series, for some reason it has the most fans

  • @piromaniac9999 You do realize that FF4 Is the FF7 of Japan right?

  • @XNewDefectX ff4 is definitely one of the most popular in the series along with 9 X 4 and 6.

FF4 is nowhere near as overrated nor does it get as many fanboys, but it still has a lot of commendation and fame.

FF4 i would say:definitely not underrated since it gets plenty of fame,it used to be underrated but recently has become of the favorites of may outside of japan.

  • @XNewDefectX I'm starting to think ff4 is more popular than even ff6,and that is an amazing thing because i remember when this game used to be unrecognized and all we ever heard about was ff6 ff7 ff8 ff9 and FFX.

  • I have gone to those ff dissdia and seen people bash ff7 and praise cecil and rosa and kain and such.

I have never seen that before until recently when people became very tired of ff7 and its franchise as a whole.

It got what it deserved in the end though, but its also sad.

The game was good but because the company that made other great games previously decided to market this one more,it sold more and they decided to cash in on it and it received harsh criticism for it.

    A sad fate indeed.

  • @piromaniac9999 & wasn't a bad game. I actually commend it for trying something new. It's the fans of 7 that have ruined it for me.

  • @XNewDefectX ff7 isn't new its the hype of things to praise.

If you wanted to be different on purpose which i don't recommend because you aren't being yourself, would be ff8 or possibly FFXII which a lot of people really dislike.

What annoys me about the ff7 fans is:they accuse all people who really dislike it of trying to just be a rebel because of being cool to diss on it when that isn't really true.

There are people who really don't like ff7 and think its overrated.

  • @piromaniac9999 It is overrated. And yes, 7 was a very new game for FF players. It was way different than any of the previous titles. Don't get me started on 8.... but I really enjoyed 12.

  • @XNewDefectX Oh yeah:my favorite char in ff6 is ultros,not kefka.

    And for ff7:cid.

  • @piromaniac9999 Puting Cait Sith in there is sooo unfair lol the real question is which Cid is better one from ff4 or ff7

  • @whatthefuck66666 Can't help it;i really really dislike cait sith.

He's the third character i hate the most from final fantasy 7 but not the one i hate most from final fantasy itself.

The one i hate from final fantasy must is definitely;Drum roll:hope and snow and vanille from FFXIII.

I can't even begin to explain how much i just hate those characters.

Vanille:just plain annoys me with her naive goody two shoes attitude.

Hope:His wimpering and whining is annoying.

    Snow:He is stupid

  • @whatthefuck66666 Oh yeah:

Snow is also a cowardly wimp who whines too.

I fucking hate those characters, god i was happy that the bitch lightning bitchslapped that fucking retard.

  • @whatthefuck66666 as for cids:I don't honestly know if i could compare each of them fairly.

the motherfucking cid from ff4 has that damm awesome music and is pretty awesome, yet:we got the bad ass cid from ff7 who drinks and cusses and beats shera with that sad tune.

I don't know they are both really great,in fact:cid is probably the only char from ff7 apart from yuffie and maybe tifa.

Tifa is treally strong and has a bit of a personality.

    Yuffie is the comedian thief

    And for ff6;cyan my fav

  • @piromaniac9999 Cloud is a little bitch in Crisis Core lol.

  • @medikevi he's even more so in ff7 the original.

  • @piromaniac9999 Uhm... I'm sorry, but no he's not. He's funny and has personality.

  • @unumatochild Who?

  • @piromaniac9999 Yes, sorry, I did comment on a rather old comment. Mr. Cloud Strife, of course, referring to his behavior in Final Fantasy VII, barring AC, and any other Compilation series game, in which they ruined his character.

  • @unumatochild Personally:I never liked cloud or of the team.

Its funny too, because square enix made another black stereo type character, but within another american stereotype:Police movie stereotype.

I'm talking about parasite eve of course, and i like daniel far far more than barret.

Barret's whole swearing nature is just grating to me.

Yuffie,i admit i liked a little more cause of her non serious personality, and cid was my favorite character.

    The others:I didn't like.

  • @piromaniac9999 I think all of the characters are weak and two dimensional with the exception of Cloud and Ruder. Sephiroth had little to no actual character development. Vincent's design was cool, but he was boring. I always like Cid. I don't really care for the story or the characters of that game all that much. I play it for the gameplay, no other reason.

Story and character wise I much prefer IX, IV and VI.

  • @unumatochild I am one of those people who honestly didn't like ff7 and didn't understand the fuss.I liked ff6 ff4 chrono trigger f9 and ff tactics more

  • @piromaniac9999 My favorite three FFs are IV, IX and VI in that order, first to last. Tactics story was okay, I don't really like the gameplay. I prefer the Tales Series to CT.

  • @unumatochild tactics story reminded me a lot of the concept that suikoden 2 had.

Both were very political, and leave you with emotional ties to the characters.

I may have only felt that once in ff7,many characters in ff6(Minus shadow.I was never a big shadow fan) & ff4,i cared deeply about cecil rosa kain and rydia.

Some of the emotional ties, has to do with that innocence of rydia, and falling victim to a tragedy. She was probably too young to fend for herself.

  • @piromaniac9999 I'm writing a novel about IV, so I understand the characters very well. It's my favorite game in the series, and you'd be hardpressed to find someone who likes the characters more. I find that the characters in that game have a remarkably deep subtext.

I would like VI more if there were fewer sub characters. In an actual novel, the cast for that game would be positively outlandish. There's no WAY you could get away with it.

  • @unumatochild I was always a big fan of cecil,but also:Cyan.

Both are very empathetic and noble people. When i saw cyan trying to help that woman who lots her husband,i could see that he felt the need to attempt to bring hope to someone, because he had lost someone.

  • @piromaniac9999 Cyan is a character that I would spent a bit of time developing, but not too much time. In that game, I prefer Edgar over anybody else. I enjoy him.

Cecil, though, is still my favorite character in anything.

  • @unumatochild edgar, while a good character,is less empasis on being noble, and more of a person who is a womanizer.I think part of the thing is also figuring out how to run figaro while dealing with his brother who wants to be free(Sabim)

  • @piromaniac9999 THat's what so great about Edgar. He's NOT the most noble. It makes his character more interesting to read and to write. I really enjoy both him and Sabin in that game, as well as Setzer. probably more than any other characters.

  • @unumatochild cecil on the other hand,he was used as a puppet to get the crystals.

You probably like terra too, since she too was used as a puppet, but the difference is:She never had free will, and when she gets it,she doesn't know what to do.

  • @piromaniac9999 Actually, I don't like Terra. That's not why I like Cecil, it has to do more with his personality than how he was used as a plot device during the course of that game.

  • @unumatochild As for ff9:I felt slightly more for kuja than zidane, and i liked vivi more than zidane as well.

I felt sorry for those black mages being used as tools of war,and i felt sorry for kuja who was being used by garland. When he lost,he lost his rage and gave up.He had accepted death and was ready to die and eventually did die.

  • @piromaniac9999 Ah, yes, Kuja. He's one of my favorite FFIX villains, simply because I think he was never really evil to begin with. He's like a bratty child who was manipulated, who was never had things explained to him and who was used. It's no wonder he hated Garland. Kuja's will is too strong to ever back down from anything.

I had very little sympathy for the Black Mages for trusting Kuja, but I did feel bad for them for all the other things. I liked Viv and Zidane alot too.

  • @unumatochild I also find that a game that hooks you from the start is a sign of a good game.If it falters later, then at least the game hooks you in early. There is also a better chance of keeping you interested later on if it continues to be interesting, and perhaps even the end.

FF8 is an example of a game i have no desire to replay.

Reason:I can't stand the needlessly repetitious junction system.

    FF6 and ff7 & ff9 kept it simple,and it worked.That complicated things can't work.

  • @piromaniac9999 Yeah, I don't like VIII, either, the story was TOO convoluted and got boring after awhile. Storywise, I probably like IX the best. I thought it was unique, and there are certain things about it that hooked me without ever going over board. My favorite game is still IV, though. I have a thing for it.

  • Bah the original ff7 is overrated.

    This song kicks ass

and the characters in the original ff7 heroes lack personality.

The story was also not as good, but the ff7 crisis core has good music and better characters than the original ff7for psx.

  • The ironic thing is that if this game of vi was the most popular of the series, people would be saying the exact same thing. I don't care what anybody thinks, I love them all.

  • @PsychoKrazyTime People who love ff6 also love ff4,or at least many appreciate its qualities.

Well, there are some who like ff6 alot but don-t care for f4 as much.

It is people who play ff7 and up and can-t get over it that don-t seem to play the older ones.

  • @piromaniac9999 Yes they do for gods sake. Everyone I know who's played VII has played the ones under it. It's people who only play X and above that don't really give the older ones a try. You can even see that from comments on websites like Play where people review saying FFXII is the best game ever FF IV sucks etc and yes I am using a review I read as an example.

  • @skullkid325

    No it is not

    You are full of shit.

I have seen ff7 bandwagon guys attack ff8 and ff6 and FF9 and ff6 guys attack ff7 for the wrong reasons and ff8 guys who are fanboys saying ff8 is the best ff7 is crap ff6 is crap etc.

I am sick to death of it and how old are you? 12?

This has been going on for ages

  • @piromaniac9999 You're the one attacking FFVII fans on FFVI videos where they won't even argue back. You're the one that's full of shit, you're basing your arguments on a few trollers you've seen when you haven't even got the balls to insult them where they'll actually see it.

  • @piromaniac9999 I've seen lots of guys on FFVII videos saying yeah yeah bla bla bla but FFVI is good as well and stuff. No one cares what your self centred views on FFVII are, if you love the other games so much just enjoy the stuff on here without trying to piss people off.

  • I meant to say this game OR VI

  • Listen to KillerOfJokes for he speaks wisdom of the Universe!

  • lol another ff7 versus every other ff.

ff7 was the first final fantasy to go mainstream. however, imo, its far from the best ff. four, six, and nine are much better than seven in my book.

  • i cant put my finger on it why ff7 has become the most well known final fantasy game. i say it would have to be the characters personally

  • @TheMaccyT nah. it was the fact that it was the first 3D FF on the playstation.

  • i guess the characters could be it but you dont see a lot of people playing playstation 1 for that.

i reckon its because of the movie "final fantasy advent children" that people started to know about the game that came out like aaages ago.

  • cloud is more smug than he is emo.

  • @KillerOfJokes

    dont forget X ;)

X was awesome... well... but X-2 was bad.

  • @KillerOfJokes

Agreed, but 7 is still DAMNED GOOD. Which just goes to show how good the others are too.

  • Agreed.

    7 was a fantastic game. I just enjoyed 4, 6, and 9 more xD

  • @KillerOfJokes

Dunno about 4... I think I like 7 more than 4. Yeah. Easily.

  • I did enjoy 7 but I liked Cecil as a protagonist more than Cloud.

The scene where he fights himself. That was awesome.

  • @KillerOfJokes

    Indeed.

  • @KillerOfJokes

yes cecil becoming a paladin was a bit more epic. but 7 had a more personal touch to it i think.

  • 7 has more crying and emo behavior, in FF4 the protagonist actually gets a grip of himself afterwards

  • @FiR3StAlK3R nah 8 has way more. in 7 its barrett searing loads in anger

  • @FiR3StAlK3R

    lol well said!

  • @FiR3StAlK3R

    ff4 is not emo

And emo didn't exist in 1997

  • where did i say ff4 is emo? and i dont care if there was emo in 1997, sephiroth and cloud behave like damn emo kids period.

  • Cloud had sex with a fat guy!? who was that, secondly cloud was the best of the best in terms of final fantasy characters, its just that in the original final fantsay 7 he was cool and actually a talkative guy but recently what with advent children and crisis core they have made him into a full blown emo that is never happy and that i do not like

  • He said almost. It was in that scene while still in Midgar where you have to dress cloud up as a chick to speak to that thug boss. Depending on what you chose, the Don can possibly pick Cloud for good-good lovins (almost). But, I have agree that Cloud totally devolved as a character as the FFVII franchise continued to get milked.

  • Yes. Cloud did have sex with a fat guy. Don Cornerio. But the spinoffs ruined cloud forever. I place full blame on Kingdom Hearts

  • im with you on that one

  • I'd have to agree.

  • Cloud almost had sex with a fat guy. How did he maintain a reputation after THAT?

  • He got a big sword and is emo, that's totally hardcore man!

  • He got a big sword... Off his best friend's corpse. And in what way was he emo?

  • The way he angsts about Sephiroth all the time, maybe?

  • damn right

  • This theme always reminded me of deep breaths... FFIV's is no exception.

  • Oh... the great Cecil!

  • i love this game.

    cecil was the man!!!

    rydia was cool too.

  • This will always be my favorite version of the Prelude. Other Final Fantasy games slowed down the tempo too much, I prefer the fast-paced tone of this one.
