non c'e' una melodia vera e propria pero, le frasi sono incomplete,belli licks uno dopo l'altro ma senza idea, prova di improvvisare come se volessi raccontare una storia
Re most "where's the tuition" comments, er, I think the "how" is more "THIS is how it's done", as in "Carlos Santana shows us HOW it's done!". You don't actually expect Carlos to come round and teach you, do you?! See what I mean?
Ciao Vincenzo, mi pace molto il tuo stile. Avresti per caso lo spartito o la tab di questo assolo? Perchè onesamente mi scoccia un po' tirarlo giù tutto ad orecchio ;)
@XLuckieX I could "just listen" to any guitarist's record, CD or whatever. It still wouldn't be a tutorial (in which the person actually breaks stuff down, explains a bit of theory, guides you through what s/he's doing.
@Riuhkuhku: that's probably the method that you use. no this solo isn't hard to play, but i bet you couldn't integrate a solo in to this backing track and make it sound good.
so what's the point of having skill when you don't have any musical intelligence?
The method that I use? No. I study, that's the only one method. And if I say that that's solo is boring, is because of the fact that after have listened to it, my musical acquaintance has no changed at all. That's a melodical solo, and it sounds good. Nothing less, but nothing more. Any guitar player could do it just studying a bit the blues "gods" influences that have done the story of the blues, of course of the slow blues.
I agree that the title is wrong. It's definitely a cool jam, but I really thought that anything that has the words "how to" in the title would be instructional.
non c'è senso della misura nè della melodia, quella vera... è tutto fuori groove ti consiglio di usare un po' di più il metronomo e non essere così presuntuoso in quello che fai!
thank you ever so much never before has one video helped me o much to stop my self just walking up ad down scales and calling it a solo this really tot me a lot thank you ever so much
No, he doesn't explain anything, but yes, this is a how to. Any musician knows the best way to improve your playing, particularly with improvisation, is by LISTENING to as much music as you can. If you want to learn how to improvise better, it's good to listen to good soloists play, and transcribe the riffs that you like the most, and learn them in every key. Good playing man.
this may not be a "how to" video like some of you are saying....BUT, there is alot than can be learned from this video. If you just take a little time and trust your ears, you can learn this song. Great playing man.
sorry but you have to change the title, it's not how to play melodic ... but it's melodic thats all lool because i was looking for a video to show how to play not that ... anyway it's soo beatyfull .i hope i can do the same one day lol
yea this is jazz. it sounds like something youll here when youre driving home at night and you turn on the radio and hear " SMOOOOOTH JAZZZ" then this music starts to play but its good tho.
melodic means slow and beautiful like the other person
said.
pentatonic minor is a mode of scales they are completely different things. and depending on the style of music, you can use any mode for soloing. (major, pentatonic minor/ blues, dorian, or even mixolydian are commonly used for blues/jazz)
major=1,2,3,4,5,6,7
pentatonic minor=1, b3, 4,5, b7
blues=1,b3,4,b5,5,b7
mixolydian=1,2,3,4,5,6,b7 dorian(i might be wrong)=1,2,b3,4,5,b6,b7
maybe, but i doubt that since he said, "i thought you could ONLY solo in pentatonic" thats what i assumed because most people i know learned the pentatonic scale first
WOW. Absolutely amazing one of the greatest melodic solos I have heard in a long time. I could really feel the emotion in the notes and the pacing was just beautiful. Amazing very well done.
I just subscribed, 5 star, this has to be the best melodic solo on youtube and I have seen a lot of them, your tone, your expression is simply amazing. ROCK ON!!!!

Melodic is just slow and beautiful. It is possible to sing a melodic solo, which isn't possible with shredding.

sorry to be rude, but you sound stupid
melodic means slow and beautiful like the other person
said.
pentatonic minor is a mode of scales they are completely different things. and depending on the style of music, you can use any mode for soloing. (major, pentatonic minor/ blues, dorian, or even mixolydian are commonly used for blues/jazz)
major=1,2,3,4,5,6,7
pentatonic minor=1, b3, 4,5, b7
blues=1,b3,4,b5,5,b7
mixolydian=1,2,3,4,5,6,b7 dorian(i might be wrong)=1,2,b3,4,5,b6,b7
