  • I first heard this in Studio One in LA.

  • Mandate, Pokies, Melbourne the 80's.....ahhhh...the memories this brings back!!!

  • Wow! I still remember turning 21 and dancing to this at the End-Up in San Francisco! Such great memories.

  • Mandate, late 1981 Melbourne Australia. Beer, sweat, flanellette shirts, smoke haze, leather, denim, wall-to-wall moustaches and back home, clean sheets on the bed.

  • Amen to all! 30 year later this is still "our song". I've got the album somewhere...need to find it, asap.

  • I may be freaking old now, but I would never trade in these amazing days for youth today...........they have no idea what they missed out on! I still go out here in Boston, and the music now is almost ignored and just a background beat.

  • I did sound for Viola Wills and for Phyllis Nelson .They were both great but I think Viola had a better instrument , I don't hear her as a sound alike at all

  • I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT MISS PHILIS NELIS IS A SOUND ALIKE FOR VIOLA WILLS

  • Sorry, used I meant here, not hear.:-)

  • I agree with many hear that this is a fantastic number from the classic years of disco. Another number that just transported you to a fantasy world. Interesting though, listening to it after so many years, you can hear that her voice is not all that great or strong, compared to many other disco divas of the era. But she deserves to get praised for at least bringing this song to us.

  • Blackpool 1983.

  • There are so many incarnations of this song by Phyllis Nelson. Great song!

  • 1st i heard this song was in Blackpool in Flamingo in the 80's and had to wait for the 12" to come out again in 1990 and the sat's night dancing my tits off in Rocks in Manchester

  • Bennetts night club Glasgow in the 1980's-when they played all the high energy gay stuff which was fabulous - so glad that was my time - wouldnt change it!This takes you back!!! ahhh Happy days!

  • First time I heard this song was at the Gemini club in Huddersfield. Very good times.

  • Such a GR8 Disco Classic :-)

  • Flamingoes early 80's this rocked then...

  • ES la primer vez que la escucho.

    Genial.

    Chau BAY.

  • what a track, one of my absolute favz, i saw her do this (and others) in leeds, she blew the place apart

  • As much as I love this, I always thought the Euro cover version by Kristeen was better! Anyone got that to upload?

  • Two copies of this 12" phased together is unbelievable!

  • @PUTSOUTHINYOURMOUTH

Yes it is. I have 2 copies & used to phase them whem I was DJing. The phase is unbelievable. It's a fun song to remix with 2 copies as well ;-)

  • wow. this was one of the beautiful ones! thanks for posting!!

  • this song reminds me of a friend that is no longer with us R.I P David"Baby Face" Rodriguez!

  • Did I already mention that I love this song?

  • Phyllis Nelson was incredible! She performed this song at Gatsby's in Cherry Hill, NJ., back in 1984.

She was a very sweet and lovely woman and could sing like crazy! We miss her!!

  • I LOVE this song... SO many great memories- my younger friends think I am crazy for playing this non stop again!!

  • It sucks that Phyllis Nelson got all the credit for this song when Viola Wills did the original recording and all the best vocals (high notes) on Phyllis Nelson's version were actually Viola Wills.

    R.I.P. Viola !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • the vocals were shared with viola wills if you listen carefully you can here the change in voices..

  • My Spanish just ran to "No pare el tren" in the Stars disco San Juan Puerto Rico 30 years where my partner and I danced in a huge circle with our tops off (girls and all) which was a bit risquee then. Wonderful sound. How did I get to be 66? Oh well.

  • This is one of the songs that my first parner adored dancing to when we used to go to the clubs back in the early 80's. Those days of disco, poppers and flashing lights ..just hearing this and I'm 21 again. Fantastic memories. Thanks for posting it

  • I could not have said it better!... It wasn't in England was it? In Manchester? In a club called Hero's? DJ Les Cockell? Good times! x

  • @eurodeluxe Oh my god yes it was In Manchester at a club call Hero's and Les was DJ with other guy call Graham

  • @tiffandoscar AMEN to that!

  • I've been looking for a good copy of this song for a long time. Thanks. Great dance memories from San Franicsco in the early 80s.

  • Studio West?????????????????

  • WOW!!!! I want to write a movie about the world of disco just so I can use this song in some scene with a Metroliner turbocharging it's way to NYC from DC. And yes, I'd have to show people smoking on the train (O M G !!!!)....I miss the 1970s, and I didn't even see them!!! lol

  • ...this is also one of my all time favorites..

    ......Cleveland, OH, USA

  • This is great disco song. I love it very much!!! how much I missed the time when these great songs would be released one after another.

  • One I danced my socks off to many years ago when I played in Blackpoool.

  • Great tune, thanks for posting!

  • I love this record. It always got the dance floor going at my local club in Nottingham. Us dancers used to have a competition/showing off session with lots of spinning around. Disco will never die.
