It does seem like marvel is pulling in people who have done independent stuff like Bendis, correct me if i'm wrong but, didnt he work on Jinx and some other graphic novels before he went to marvel. Same thing with Aron Coleite(Ultimate X-Men) and Joe Pokaski(Ultimate Fantastic Four) they both worked on some of their own graphic novels before they worked for marvel.
Check out our review of the best comics of 2008 for our take on that issue. I'll admit that I bought SI, although I avoided all the tie-in minis, except for Matt Fraction's Thor mini-series.
I've also bought every issue of Final Crisis ,too.

Oh hey look at how many writers and artists made it in the UK on 2000AD and Judge Dredd the Megazine and went on to Marvel and DC.
I think Marvel are still playing it safe when it comes to the independants...they're not exactly hiring Joe Sacco or Chris Ware or anyone.

I'm just interested, why do you guys think Secret Invasion sold so much? Actually I'm pretty sick of the big "crossovers" in general but...

I guess I'm part of the problem. ;-)
